If you’re a retiree looking for a laidback lifestyle, a family looking for an active vacation or a college student looking for a fun-filled spring break, you’ll find both pleasant and exciting destinations in the warm-weather state of Florida. Spend a week or a lifetime exploring Florida’s offerings.
Start with beaches. The state has 825 miles (1,328 kilometers) of sand and surf on the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Exciting Miami Beach, family-friendly Fort Lauderdale and quiet Sanibel Island are among the many great spots for swimming and sunbathing. In Daytona Beach, drive your car on the beach sands or watch the annual Daytona 500 auto race at Daytona International Speedway.
Celebrate a family event at one or more of Florida’s exciting theme parks: Disney’s Magic Kingdom, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios and many more. Make a trip to the Space Coast to learn about the exciting world of space exploration.
Florida is so perfectly suited for golf that Tiger Woods built a home on Jupiter Island with a four-hole practice facility. You probably can’t play there, but you can find nearly 1,400 courses across the state. Try inexpensive public courses or top-of-the-line Streamsong. Splurge for the famous TPC at Sawgrass with its challenging island green.
Visit Florida’s three national parks. Biscayne has mangroves, the Florida Keys and coral reefs with manatee, crocodiles, sea turtles and peregrine falcons. Take a boat to Dry Tortugas to see a Civil War fort and shipwrecks. The Everglades is a vast wilderness with more than 30 protected species in its mangrove ecosystem.
Florida has cultural attractions too. The Miami Museum of Contemporary Art is an exciting and growing attraction with studio art and performance art. Also in Miami, you’ll find several zoos and wildlife areas, over 20 museums, professional teams in five sports and numerous Spanish-language events and attractions.
The state of Florida welcomes more than 90 million visitors annually. You could be one of them.
Property was beautiful! Pools were beautiful! No issues with cleanliness or smelly rooms like some of the other reviews had put. Had a tiki bar out by the pool that had amazing drinks and food, as well as Starbucks and a beautiful lobby bar. There was also a buffet but we never made it. Will stay ...
Excellent location, shuttles readily available, early admission to parks with stay!
the location is great and very good price for being so close to the resort
Beautiful new facility. Hope to return! Only recommendation: bathroom floor could’ve been cleaner.
This property was very clean the rooms are great and the staff was very nice.
Very Impressed with this Holiday Inn. From the front desk, to the lifeguards for the Waterpark, all the workers at the Marketplace, and even the hotel maids/security guards made this place somewhere I would recommend to friends and family!
