"We only booked one night and stayed for three nights. Great pool and hot tub, beautiful grounds, nice beach to relax (we bought our own chairs), fantastic food at the restaurant and so many things to explore on the property including and extensive ghost town, train-car museum and a train ride. There is also an indoor garden to enjoy, so many place to sit and relax within the hotel. The staff was super, everyone was very nice and accommodating. Rooms were clean, view from the balcony on the 4th floor was really nice to enjoy. My biggest complaint is always the complete lack of shower pressure, the shower pressure was the best I have ever experienced. The originally family that built the hotel is still running the hotel and the history is well worth exploring. There are two geese at the beach, barn swallows and variety of other birds including loons on the lake. A few heads up items, there is no air conditioning but the rooms had fans you could set where you like, and in the evening the temperature cools off so you get a nice breeze. We had no issue with not having air conditioning. The TV only has a couple of channel like ME TV so if you need evening digital entertainment, bring some along. There is wifi but not in the rooms, we didn't miss it. The lake water is cool but great for cooling off on hot days. Highly recommend the hotel and ghost town! My suggestion to the hotel...turn the space above the paddle rental builidng into an nice lounge over looking the lake."

"The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Much nicer than the usual motel room. However, we were given a room at the end of the building, closest to the highway that runs in front, so there was quite a bit of traffic noise beginning at around 6AM. Also, alongside the highway runs a railroad track, and trains were running about once an hour. Fortunately from inside the room the noise from the trains was mostly just a low rumble, and it didn’t wake me up. I did ask the desk clerk if I could get a room that wasn’t so close to the highway and train track, and she told me that I would have to pay a higher rate for a different room. Lastly, the so-called free breakfast was really lame: just hard-boiled eggs, yoghurt and granola bars. (I’m sorry, granola bars are not breakfast food, it is almost candy.) We ended up getting bagels at Tim Hortons instead."
