Carberry Tower Mansion House and Estate

10/10 Excellent
"The room was gorgeous and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially when it came to getting us a cab to get us into the city. Highly recommend if you want a historic & unique stay. It was just far enough to escape the chaos of The Fringe, but also close enough that getting a cab to city or taking the train from Musselburgh was easy."

Best Western Kings Manor Hotel

Best Western Kings Manor Hotel

8/10 Good
"This is a lovely hotel with only one main issue (for me at least): the mattress was far too hard and lumpy. I asked for extra duvets which were gladly provided, and I folded them up and put them under the sheet. That helped. But it would be better to have a memory foam topper. Otherwise it’s a decent older hotel, with nice common areas, a chill bar and restaurant on site, helpful staff, and i particularly enjoyed the access to the brilliant gym and pool- not your standard tiny hotel pool but a real recreation facility. The bus links to town are frequent and stops right outside . There’s a corner shop on the block. Tea amd coffee and biscuits in the room. It’s all there - just the mattresses badly need updating or topped."

Marine North Berwick

Marine North Berwick

10/10 Excellent
"North Berwick being a golfers paradise for Scottish Links golf was amazing. Accent that with an amazingly striking and gorgeous hotel set of the Golf Digest # 11 course in the world just makes it that much better. From the moment we first walked in taking the breathtaking main room, to the stunning bar area. The rooms are old world classic feeling. The sunsets and sunrises from our course and water facing room literally could not be beat and the ability to walk through the back gate straight onto the course and out to the beach was perfect. The only criticism I can offer, for such an over the top experience both hotel and golf wise, the bathrooms and cleanliness could use some work. The bathrooms are dated (and not in a good way) and without going into full detail was not the cleanest by a pretty good margin. That being said, staff from the minute I called to the moment that we left went above and beyond. Amazing and memorable stay and trip to say the least. Thank you Marine hotel for helping put the wife's 40th celebration over the top."
