"We had a great stay at Hamilton House – very friendly owners, spotlessly clean property, large comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. Really useful having the car park at the back for our motorcycles, out of sight and under cameras. 15 minute walk in to town. Dumfries is a great base for exploring the area, highly recommended, we will be back!"

"Lovely hotel, very friendly helpful staff. Foo was excellent. Rooms lovely. Hotel is rutal, so 4 stars is simply not a lot around - but if looking for a quiet rural hotel excellent. Simple facilities- if being really picky, could do with access to movies or streaming from room's tv."

The staff went above and beyond and were very flexible about extending my stay and letting me work in the function room etc. The local area is also very nice especially the fish and chip shop and Indian restaurant and pub across the road."
