What can I say, except WOW!
Such an amazing place. Magical barely scratches the surface. We were lucky enough to stay here the night of the biggest Northen lights in 20 years, and it didn’t disappoint. Sitting in the hot tub and looking out over the peaceful pond is a relaxation that can’t be matched. And Rig (the cat), we miss you already!!

Can honestly say that this is by far one of our most favorites places to go now. Chris was so pleasant to interact with. From the beautiful views of the pond and wildlife, hot tub, cozy fires in the cabin, lake/lawn toys, board games inside, hiking trails, we couldn't decide what was more enjoyable. Complete privacy. Looking forward to returning. Thank you for your hospitality!!

Excellent Long Weekend Getaway
We stayed at this charming log cabin for May Long Weekend and had a great time. The cabin is well appointed and has nice features such as the black claw foot tub and the beautiful diamond willow railings. Our favourite feature was the wood burning hot tub, where we enjoyed our complimentary bottle of wine! Chris has it well stocked with games for inside and out. We were happy we could bring our dog with us and he had the best weekend of his life - running into the pond and tromping around with every stick he could find. The bird viewing was spectacular and we hope to come back and explore the trail with our Cross Country skis.

Birthday getaway
I took my boyfriend here with a couple friends for his birthday and it was the closest thing to paradise I could find in Alberta. The host goes above and beyond for his guests and that made the experience that much better. Will be back again :)

Amazing little getaway!
This place was exactly what my wife and I needed. I nice relaxing quiet weekend away. No kids. No dogs. No schedules. Chris was great to deal with. He is very friendly and greets you like your old friends. It was my wife’s birthday weekend and he went and put a birthday cake in the fridge for us, and made sure we had everything we needed the whole weekend! The hot tub at this cabin is definitely the Chef’s kiss. We will definitely be back. Thanks again Chris for the great weekend away!

Perfect retreat
We booked this cabin for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! We love outdoors and wood stoves, and very much enjoyed keeping the hot tub stoked, and the cabin warm. Lots of time by the fire playing cards and enjoying the wine. We look forward to coming back with our kids. This cabin has everything you need, pack your food, cloths and enjoy!

Canadian Classic
This property has some great things going for it - privacy, peace and quiet first and foremost. This is a great spot for “getting away from it all”. We loved skating/shinny hockey on the pond and cross- country skiing at nearby Pembina Nordic Center. Cabin is heated by a wood stove as is the hot tub and that feels like stepping back in time. Note that there’s no wifi, limited cell signal and no TV - great for getting away from it all, but you should be aware of that going in. Chris was a friendly and attentive host.

Quiet Getaway
A wonderful getaway into the wilderness to disconnect from a busy life and recharge in nature. We had a relaxing few days of exploring, skating, hot tubbing and stoking the fireplace. We will be back!

The perfect place for a getaway
Chris was a great host and his property is beautiful! We travelled myself and my husband and our three boys aged 7. 10 and 12. They loved playing hockey on the pond, having a campfire and soaking in the hot tub. A great place to check out and enjoy nature and time together as a family!

Amazing Christmas Getaway
My partner and I booked this property for four days over the holidays and we had a very relaxing time. Chris had put up a Christmas tree and garland with lights inside the cabin to make it festive. We skated on the pond, cooked on the BBQ and hung out in the hot tub for hours watching the stars. Chris was very accommodating as always. We will be back!

Pure escapism..
This cabin makes you feel like you are living on another planet. It takes you back in time to a place where times felt simpler, to a time when you could just simply sit in a rocking chair, swaying back and forth in front of the blazing fire in meditation, a time where there were little distractions and you were fully immersed in the present moment. Feeling the warmth of the fire, and hearing the crackling of the wood was one of my favourite moments during our visit. We spent our days taking in the beautiful land — the birds, the moose, the clear, wide open sky. Taking in the fresh country air was like learning what it is to breathe again. Lounging in the wood fire hot tub underneath the stars was such a treat! The cabin has an amazing rustic copper bath tub that you are guaranteed to have the best bath of your life in. We just loved the antique furniture throughout the cabin and all it’s rugged charm. We spent the rest of our time reading, playing card games and losing track of time. Chris is a very attentive host. He ensured we had everything we needed, and even started the hot tub up for us in the morning. He is very friendly and shared many stories about the land. We are both so grateful that this cabin exists and hope to return in the very near future. It is a magical place. Thank you, Chris!

Perfect relaxing cozy getaway
My friends and I had the best time at this cozy cabin. We loved the wood burning hot tub! It was the perfect little escape from reality for the weekend. Check in was easy and Chris was super helpful when we needed anything. We would definitely stay again.

A perfect getaway
We were looking for a peaceful cabin to get away to for a weekend, and boy did we find it! The privacy was outstanding, the cabin is exactly what you picture when you think of a log cabin. We spent our days reading, playing cards or letting the dog adventure on the trails, and our nights enjoying the wonderful bathtub and hot tub. Can’t wait to return in the future!

Another awesome trip to the cabin
After our first trip about 3 weeks ago, we decided to come back again from the Island. The trip was worth the drive. Chris is the best host and we love spending time at his gorgeous cabin location!! Chris took my hubby Kelly out for a cruise on the quad and Kelly was so grateful for that....loved to hear all about Chris' amazing stories. Alberta bound from BC
We loved our trip to Alberta visiting family and by far loved our short stay at Chris's cabin. Hospitality was awesome and even though we didnt stay long, we fell in love with the peaceful surroundings. Japanese hot tub and the rustic tub was perfect. As we await our ferry trip back to the Island, I've already booked for next month.

Relaxing Getaway!
My husband and I stayed here over the long weekend and we had such a good time! A perfect little retreat to escape the business of the city. Our dog really enjoyed it too! So much space for him to roam around off leash. We will definitely be back! Highlights were the wood fired hot tub, late night fires under the stars and the walking trails!

Charming
A charming place that offers time to just relax, stargaze and loose track of time. Our dog absolutely loved the freedom to roam around nature which made us very happy. A must is to enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck swing while watching the fish jump. Beautiful location, relaxing hot tub, more then enough wood and overall a peaceful escape. The only thing for us was we would appreciate a little more privacy as far as there are no curtains/blinds on any of the windows, especially the bathroom lol. I know we are in the middle of the forest, but still, imagination can run wild with what may be lurking in the bush, especially at night lol. Overall a great place to really unwind and disconnect. Thank you for having us!

Perfect getaway!
This is the second stay at this delightful cabin and we will definitely be back. Chris is a wonderful host, always has lots of interesting stories to tell us about the property and it’s surroundings and the abundant wildlife. There is so much to do and we had our small grandkids with us this time and they had a wonderful time exploring, paddling, going in the hot tub and roasting s’mores over the fire, even had a quad bike ride with Chris. Wonderful stay
Such a beautiful spot! It was so peaceful and really made you feel connected with nature. The pond was great for the kids to swim and play in. We went on a nature walk, roasted marshmallows with the kids, relaxed in the hot tub, watched the northern lights around the fire pit. We would love to return in the winter to enjoy everything the property has to offer at that time of year as well! Chris was a great host and made sure everything was great for our stay.

Beautiful private get away
This was our second time at this property. We came in spring and now mid summer. I was amazed that both times the cabin maintained perfect temperature. Despite the hot August weather it was cool inside, and back in early spring the fireplace maintained it very warm and cozy. There is a beautiful trail full or wild raspberry bushes nearby, canoes and a kayak for use, lots of games (indoor board games and outdoor badminton, frisbee, and multiple other ones). The hot tub is attended to regularity and has the perfect temperature -not too hot in the middle of the day and hot and steamy in the cool evenings. Fish to feed and a fishing rod, barbecue. The area is very private and quiet and the host is attentive and responds right away but in no way intrusive. Our 8 year old son was entertained the whole long weekend.

Chris was a great host. You can tell he has a lot of pride for this picturesque and peaceful place. We loved swimming and canoeing on the water and of course the hot tub! There’s lots of games and a little swing set for little kids. Kitchen is well stocked too. A very easy and relaxing getaway!!

Wow, what an amazing place. So relaxing and you can spend the whole day swimming and soaking in the hot tub. Chris is very accommodating and communication with him is excellent. A perfect spot for Rest away from the rush of life!
Chris was so helpful and hospitable! The property was everything I had been hoping for—a quiet escape where we could just rest and refresh in nature. The Japanese wood-fired hot tub was such a nostalgic and fun experience, and the water was beautifully clear and fresh. Chris had it all fired up and hot when we arrived so we could take a dip that afternoon. My boyfriend doesn’t do hot tubs normally so I figured I’d be enjoying it alone before bed, but we soaked in the hot tub several times each day…and even talked about how fun it would be to build one for ourselves. If you come in the summer don’t miss out on swimming in the pond! It’s cold enough when you first get in to remind you of being at the ocean haha but once you’re in it’s so refreshing! I woke up in the morning looking forward to going for a swim! There’s also bocce ball, ladder toss, walking paths, and lots of room to explore around the property. With a full-sized fridge, a four burner stovetop, pots and pans etc, and a microwave with an overhead element in it, you can save money on food by cooking homemade meals. We even managed to make a delicious lasagna from scratch in the grill-microwave. We will definitely be back to explore all the things we ran out of time for…and do some more swimming and hot tubbing. :) I Highly recommend staying at the Burch Forest Cabin!
