HQ Bar & Restaurant

8/10 Good

"The HQ bar and restaurant is an excellent place to stay. The breakfast is very good. The rooms are clean and adequate, although like me you may be located in one of the sister hotels close by. The bar is well stocked and the staff are pleasant. The hotel is centrally located to reach the town centre, Nobles Park and Onchan."

"A great hotel right in the centre of Douglas. This is our third time in this hotel and every room we have had had been very clean and comfortable. There is a wide selection for breakfast whether a continental choice or a hot choice from the main menu. And what really makes this hotel it is the staff. Everyone we came across have been courteous, helpful and efficient"

"We booked a superior room with a sea view. It was everything you could want. The view over the water was superb. The fit out was great. The convenience to the ferry terminal was great as was the access to the bus. The breakfast basket was as comprehensive as we have ever had and satisfied our requirements excellently. As for Isle of Man, we did not know what to expect but it far exceeded our expectations, The steam train, the vintage electric railway, the train up the mountain and horse drawn tram was all very different and complemented the extensive bus network so we saw a lot. We could have stayed more than 3 nights."

"Well located hotel within five minutes walk of the ferry port. An old fashioned style B and B with seemingly new owners (Opul Group). Rooms are large but maybe a little in need of a refresh. Everything clean. Breakfast included which was surprisingly excellent. Buffet style but even catered for us as vegans which was amazingly welcome. Well located for the town centre, next door to wetherspoons which can be loud on a weekend, but no huge problem."

"Welcoming staff, Room was very comfortable and housekeeping was excellent room made up to a high standard every day of stay. Breakfast was very good ate in restaurant 2 nights of stay food was really nice. Excellent location on seafront near electric tram and steam railway To sum up we all have enjoyed our stay at the Empress hotel"
