"The property is your typical Victorian BnB and only a block back from the Promenade. The staff were very polite and attentive and the included breakfast was good. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, although as is typical for buildings this old the walls and ceilings are pretty thin. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs. "The Melrose is similar to other Manx B&B I have used, The property while looking tired and dated is adequate for my type of stay. The Host Peter makes the difference here, very amiable, very helpful, interested in talking to you, serves a cracking full English breakfast, piping hot with great quality ingredients, great coffee too. "Our family of 4 was split across 2 rooms due to their smallish size, but it was still a great bargain compared to other options. The hotel is conveniently located for several pubs and restaurants as well as the promenade, beach, electric railway, and horse trams. It's not too far from the ferry terminal, and we made it just fine by walking. Would recommend staying here."

"Central location, close to bus stops, Cindy the host was lovely and our stay lived up to all the previous reviews we read. Lovely clean room, nice bed, quiet street, had our own kitchenette and living room and bathroom, it was pretty much like renting a whole apartment but cheaper! We felt like we had moved house and it was our own apartment! Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone! "

"Extremely roomy and well-appointed, very comfortable stay in a great location, just a few minutes from the ferry so great for walkers. Bus stop on the block, great transportation around the island. Enjoyed the view, excellent kitchen facilities, Marks & Spencer just a couple blocks away. Would definitely recommend for value for money. "

"We found the property spacious and well equipped. The view was amazing and we enjoyed watching boats come and go as well as the trams. Lovely pub down the road in the Terminus Tavern. We felt that the publicity photo of the house was a bit misleading in that it hides the very busy road that goes right part the front door of the house. This was loud and made access very difficult particularly with a young child. But overall it was a nice house and we enjoyed our stay."

"Very overpriced. We were traveling with a group of 7 so we booked 2 exact apartments in the same building. Vrbo charged me more than our friends paid. They booked through Expedia. I will never use Vrbo again. The owner then charged me more money when we arrived, after the final online payment was made. He stated we didn’t pay for enough people, The apt sleep 7 we had 3 ppl in ours. Explain that? Pictures online were from another much nicer location (catfished). Very unclean. Cheap furniture...
