The breakfasts were amazing, a lot of choice, not just the usual standard british breakfast. The staff were very good. The owners was very helpful when we had a medical emergency. The hotel is well located with a short walk to Douglas beach and the shops within easy reach. The only drawback for us was the stairs. There were a lot of them up to our room and no lift, but apart from that we had a lovely stay.

Our guest room was exceptionally clean and featured the added comfort of a private bathroom. The morning breakfast was competitively priced, complemented by outstanding, attentive service throughout our stay. Accessibility Considerations Stair-Only Access: The property lacks an elevator, which is typical for traditional buildings in the area. Mobility Note: Navigating the staircases—particularly to the upper floors—may pose a challenge for guests with mobility impairments. For solo travelers or groups without physical accessibility needs, the Devonian offers fantastic value, and I would gladly return for future visits.

Old but fair hotel. rooms small, clean but with extremely poorly equipped very small and not so functional bathrooms. Staff was kind, room was serviced ok, breakfast acceptable though very slowly prepared. Ok for very short leisure stays. I would not reccomend it for business trips or for long stays.

My group and I had perhaps the best hotel experience we’ve ever had at The Devonian. I cannot say enough good words about how welcoming, friendly and helpful the staff (owner?) was. From arriving early morning and being able to put our bags in one of the rooms despite check in being hours later, to providing really helpful advice on navigating the bus strikes, just utterly exemplary. The hotel itself was beautiful, well kept, spotlessly clean and comfortable. I can’t fault it and would return without question if we ever go back to the Isle of Man.

Good location, very close to the ocean, downtown area, and ferry terminal. The property is an old house, so first impressions of the entrance is a bit shabby, worn carpets, etc. But, the room was comfortable and very clean. All in all, good value for money.

Brilliant 3 night stayover at The Devonian, IoM.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay, accommodated our preferred check in time, and very welcoming staff. Everthing was spotless, and room/bathroom cleaned daily. Toiletries provided as is tea coffee facilities in room. Breakfasts were fantastic, such a lovely varied menu catering for all tastes. Centrally situated for all attractions. Would definitely stay here again.
