Dorado del Mar Hotels, San Juan

"First off everything is a money grab they have limited free seats by pool so you have to pay for extra seats if they are taken. Other embassy’s happy hour is free drinks till the time is up. This one gives you like 2 tickets and this includes soda. So if you are a family of 4 you have to pay for drinks. Lastly they didn’t post a sign of a wet floor so I feel. Staff was accommodating but all an all not the best stay. I will not return to this hotel. "

"More of an average experience than a true “resort”. Every pool lounge chair was taken by 9am every day, which is pretty ridiculous. No enforcement of “no saving seats.” Couldn’t use the hot tub as it was constantly full of children (should be adults only). Beach was nice although I noticed they refused to set up chairs for people after 3/4 because “the beach closed at 6p” which also seems a little ridiculous. The lunch food was mediocre; dinner at the Ocean restaurant was one is rhe worst meals of my life and incredibly overpriced. Drinks there were so bad that I sent mine back and ordered a wine. I stayed here many years ago and enjoyed it but probably won’t be back again now. Also - double check your bill; they didn’t include a credit I was owed initially and as others have pointed out, they are not very transparent about resort fees (although I read about them beforehand). "

"Went on a mother daughter trip and really enjoyed this location. Definitely need to rent a car if you want to do more than hang at the beach and pool. The beach was perfect."
