"Horrible property nothing close to the pictures that they show! Food was horrible and service was horrible"

"The property was gorgeous and you always saw staff cleaning. I have absolutely zero complaints about the room or property. We stayed on the new side of the property and the decor was very fitting for the resort. For the food, all restaurants are buffet style, which was kind of a bummer because you can find all the specialty restaurant food in the main buffet throughout your stay The steakhouse is table service and takes reservations but it felt very rushed to get through the courses The pools are a massive highlight and honestly so refreshing to be in. There are tables and seating in the pools with the swim up bars, it never took long to wait for a drink, and the cocktails were fruity and delicious. There are plenty of beach activities to look into, the sand is volcanic and hot so definitely wear shoes! If you walk down the beach a bit, there is an off property bar and TONS of monkeys on the way If you don't book through the property and use expedia, you do not get airport transportation included in your reservation. We used LAR and they were awesome, super punctual and professional I went with my boyfriend for my birthday and we are already planning next year's trip The only thing I will say, if you have room preferences that you put in through Riu, make sure to follow up. Since this was my birthday trip I put in a few requests for views and area of property and none of them were met"

"This was such a perfect place for a relaxing vacation in Costa Rica! The check-in process with Jacky and Cesar was so easy - and they are very helpful with recommendations. We did not plan much in advance and just waited to see how we felt that day and it was perfect for me. The hosts Jane and John were so kind and understanding of a last minute date shift, and were able to help me work out some details, which I was so appreciative of. The villa was amazing, clean, well-stocked with plates, linens, beach towels. The resort pool was relaxing, and you could sit on the lounge chairs and enjoy a nice breeze while looking out at the beach. The beach was fabulous with good snorkeling right off shore. We saw howler monkeys right in front of our villa one day! We enjoyed the on-site restaurant - great food and service. I did not want to come home! Would love to stay again soon. "

"This condo is great but the complex is just fantastic. We’ve stayed here many times over the last decade. The swimming pool is amazing. The unit’s proportions are gigantic. Getting there takes some attention but easy once you have done it once. "

"One of the most outstanding properties, for house layout, location and amenities, we have ever rented. The property was not clean. The patios and outside furniture were almost not usable due to the lack of cleaning. It was like every drawer, every cabinet, junk was just thrown in after each guest. There was no on site concierge, there was no light daily cleaning as advertised. We were advised that a party of 15 checked out the morning we arrived, so there was not enough time to clean? We had to insist on getting access to laundry facilities, only too be too scared to use, once provided due to the uncleanliness. The house would be fabulous, if someone went in organized and threw mountains of trash away. And, demanded guests keep it that way. Shampoo and lotion was provided, no soap. No hot water in the kitchen and no kitchen towels. Most of the beach and pool towels were in a pile in a dirty garage. We would definitely stay here again, provided there were assurances of it being clean and organized. We can not state enough how beautiful the house is, how perfect the house layout and how beautiful the outdoor spaces. "

"Very beautiful location. Unfortunately we were not told ahead of time that there would be construction. Paying full price for this feels unfair. When I reached out to Vacasa regarding this I got no response. Few other positives: Very clean. Nice pool. Good location. Very elevation made for a beautiful drive. Lots of linens and towels. Laundry on site. Close to coco for groceries. Very big and spacious and comfortable for a group. Lots of wildlife.Negatives: the knives don't cut anything. The coffee pot carafe didn't match the coffee maker causing coffee to brew all over the place. The oven didn't work well - took an hour to make a thin pizza. No baking sheets for the oven either. We had to pack and pay for double the luggage as we were told there was no laundry machines even though there was. Regarding the construction: there's a hotel being built beside this condo. They would be hammering and drilled until 11 at night and started again at 5am. If you are looking for peace and quiet and to listen to the wildlife around, you can't hear it from the construction going on. The listing for the condo has been since updated to say there's construction going on but unfortunately at the time we booked this was not told to us. Giving the overall stay a 3/5 due to no communication from vacasa on construction. "
