We loved the historical atmosphere of the whole property, the homestead and gardens, historic buildings to see, and the history of the family to hear about. The accommodation was comfortable and quaint, quiet and cosy with wonderful views of the countryside from the verandah of Pumpkin Cottage. An added bonus was the cosy s.c.fire. Rustic charm, beautifully comfortable bedding and the perfect outlook for our 5 night stay. Pet friendly, our budgie thoroughly enjoyed his holiday too! 😄 Only a 5 minute drive into Stanley and a great base for daily sightseeing. We loved our time in the lakeside jetty cabin.

Very nice king sized bed and wonderful bath tub. The staff were really nice and upgraded us to a nicer room.

Lots of positives: Nice and clean. Had a high chair and portacot. Everything we needed. Only two negatives - 1. Needing to strip the beds was a step too far in cleaning up after yourself. We have three small children so it is already hard to clean up and pack up on departure day. 2. 4pm check in is not reasonable. Too late.

Burnie was the last stop of my work trip in Tassie and I’m very glad that I found this place. Nice view, Comfortable bed nice pillows good quality towels...It’s like a home away from home- you’ve got everything you need here, even Netflix! There are a few places to eat just a short stroll away. I went to the pizza and tapas bar and had seafood chowder there, was really nice. Would be a really great option for family travelling together too .
