This is my second stay at Tairoa Lodge. It is a beautifully restored house with kauri floors and staircase, set in a large garden. Outside, the kauri trees, although young for kauri trees, are magnificent. Linda was an attentive host with a good eye for the details that make your stay memorable. Highly recommended for a taste of historic New Zealand.

Loved being in the middle of everything. Across the road is the shopping centre (centre city), just a block down the road is a number of cafes and restaurants/bars, a block up the road is the movie theatre and you are around the corner from the Main Street. I would recommend the metrotel motel to people who enjoy the night life or would rather walk to everything then drive.

Stunning location. Beautiful gardens and ‘secret’ pathways. Very quiet. Comfortable beds and powerful shower! Beautiful lounge and dining area and well set up with pool table. Would be great for a group but also relaxing for a couple. Wonderful stay.

The location for our needs was fantastic. Service was exceptional. The comfort of the room fabulous.

Facilities: laundry cafe below; Value: Boutique style @ budget; Service: V friendly local staff; Cleanliness: Brand spanking new; Strolling distance from Pukekura park if you're attending a concert. Go for a King Room, doubles are street side.

The accommodations were well-maintained and the bedding provided a comfortable experience. Regrettably, the quality of the pillows did not meet expectations. The en-suite facilities were clean, and the shower offered excellent water pressure. The staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism and provided exceptional service.

We loved our stay here. The room was spacious and very clean. So close to the beach. Very friendly and helpful staff.
