A gem in the jungle. The property has a lovely tribal and colonial style and is eco conscious. It’s well located close to Periyar Tiger Park and shopping and massage facilities. The staff are wonderful and the food is good. Well worth the stay.

From start to finish our stay was very enjoyable. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful, they even managed to book a train trip for us which at such late notice was no mean feat! The food was delicious, the room beautifully decorated and the amenities extremely well maintained.
We took the complimentary sunset cruise and did a cooking class which was a lot of fun.

The waterfront view was exceptional from the balcony. The staff were helpful and eager to please all round.
However, the room house keeping was less than optimal. On one day the room cleaning was missed entirely even when the “Please clean the room” sign was on display all day outside the room.
That said, we still plan to return to Niraamaya Resort Kumarakom in the future.

This hotel is located in the hills close to Thekkardy. It has a very rough track from the main road but it is worth it when you get to this hotel which has beautiful views and is in such a peaceful location. The rooms are very comfortable although the air conditioning could not cope with the high heat. One night is not long enough at this hotel. You need transportation to be able to get into town from the hotel which the hotel can arrange. On the whole a very comfortable, tranquil hill...
