"My fiancé and I have stayed in alot of places from casino hotels to cabins in the woods. This place was by far the best place we've stayed at. Being able to bring our dog was great, the cabin was VERY clean and well kept from the kitchen to the fire pit. And honestly what made the trip top notch was the service from the host. If we needed anything at all they were on it. This alone made the trip worth the money. "

Farmhouse in the South Branch River Valley with idyllic views and country charm

"Nellies farm house in Romney WV is a peaceful retreat in an idyllic country setting. On the drive in you can appreciate the beautiful mountains and farmland, and the view from the house is an expansive visa of the whole valley. The house is the perfect blend of modern convenience, and country charm. It was roomy, well stocked, and very clean. There was even a record player with vintage vinyl. There is an elevated rear porch with great views and a hot tub on the patio below. We enjoyed the views of antique barns from various large windows in the house and had a fun time seeing the cows graze in the field below. The hosts were accommodating and helpful. We truly enjoyed our time there and look forward to returning again in the future."

"Room was very clean and towels and washcloths got changed while I was gone which was great. The breakfast was fantastic as well, worth the money. We saw one bug in the lobby, but that very well could’ve been tracked in by a traveler. There were no bugs in the rooms or beds. Bathrooms were very clean."

"This was an amazing, unique home with lots of little touches that made the stay even better. Whoever cleans the house should be commended for their thoroughness and attention to detail. One of the cleanest houses we have ever stayed in. If you follow the hosts directions, getting to the location is simple. The driveway seems a little iffy, but in an all wheel or 4 wheel vehicle the drive is fine. It’s gravel, a little steep and only one lane, but totally doable. Just go slow and you will be fine. All bathrooms had shampoo and conditioner, which I appreciated very much. Laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent and dish soap provided. Bring Clorox wipes or kitchen counter cleaner to wipe down if you will be there for awhile. This was such a cool experience for our family of 6 who love the outdoors and nature. Highly recommended."

Milam Ridge: Modern Cabin Escape. Hot Tub, Covered Deck, Fire Pit

"Milam Ridge is a wonderful getaway that combines an industrial aesthetic with a peaceful wooded setting. The two clean, well-maintained cabins share a spacious, fully roofed deck with sturdy gates that make it exceptionally pet-friendly. Our two small dogs could roam the deck safely, and a separate fully fenced area provided plenty of room for them to run.The main cabin has an open living room/kitchen, wood stove, Roku TV, games and movies, a well-equipped kitchen, dishwasher, and ice-maker. The second cabin adds another bedroom and bathroom with a full-size washer/dryer. The covered deck was our favorite feature, with abundant seating, a dining table, bar overlooking the woods, outdoor sink/prep area, and fans. The covered fire pit was another highlight, with comfortable Adirondack chairs, excellent ventilation, and plenty of firewood.There are a few neighboring homes and occasional daytime noise from people working outside or kids playing, but this was never a significant issue for us. We stayed a full week with our 14-year-old son and two dogs and absolutely loved it. The cabins were comfortable and quiet, the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped, and the Level 2 J1772 EV charger was a great bonus. Cell service is limited, but reliable Wi-Fi is provided.Milam Ridge is ideal for families, couples, friends, and especially anyone traveling with pets. It's also a great base for exploring northern West Virginia. We would happily return and highly recommend it!"
