Secluded, Cozy Cottage in the Shenandoah Valley

Escape to our comfortable and well appointed cottage in the mountains. This one bedroom one bath with additional loft is the perfect retreat. The spacious deck is ideal for sipping coffee in the morning, reading and napping in the afternoon and star gazing at night. The property sits on over 90 acres to explore and a hot tub to soak in after. There are beautiful hiking trails a few steps from the cottage and the famous Skyline Drive is just a 20 minute drive away. There are several beautiful wineries a few miles from the cottage. Enjoy the evenings by the fire pit (we have wood available for you). We also have a wood burning fire place for chilly nights and a gas grill for your convenience.
The cottage has free wifi (Starlink!) and a smart TV.
There are 2 towns close by for provisioning, shopping and meals out.
We have a generator that will automatically turn on and power the entire cottage in case there is a power outage.
Peace and quiet with all the comforts of home. Like us, you won’t want to leave.

Please be aware that we do have a security camera located on the upper deck that is pointed at the driveway and one at the entry door.

Relaxing Cottage

A little piece and quiet in the woods

Beautiful one bedroom house in the woods. A perfect location to unwind but still close to highways, wineries/breweries and Shenandoah hiking trails. Wish we booked a longer stay! Will definitely be back.

Great Location

This was the perfect getaway for a weekend trip with my partner. The house was decorated beautifully. The indoor fire place was great in heating the place up quickly (it was 50 degrees inside when we arrived). We also enjoyed the hot tub outside during the brisk evenings. Place was clean and the owner was quick to respond when we had questions. We would definitely return!

Anniversary getaway

My husband and I live in RVA and wanted a quick getaway to celebrate our 20th wedding Anniversary and the cottage was perfect! The cottage was extremely clean, very modern- which is what we look for when away from home and the owners were amazing! The property owners had an amazing response time to all my questions and extremely friendly. The location has beautiful views which gave way to a most relaxing couple days. The cottage is close to Muse Vineyard and Cave Ridge which hosted amazing views and delicious wines. We sincerely had the best time and can’t wait to visit again!

Perfect get away

We had a great time and really enjoyed our weekend trip for our anniversary. The house was just the right size for the two of us. Very spacious bathroom and cute little kitchen/living room. The hot tub was great to relax in after a long day. The fire place came in handy the one day it was cold and rainy. The furnishings were very nice and we loved the way the house was decorated. There was plenty to do in the area when we felt like venturing out. It was a perfect place to relax and recharge.

A lovely, serene house perfect for a weekend away. The furnishings were great and the kitchen was very well stocked. There were some ladybugs, but I grew up in a rural area and I know that’s common and almost impossible to prevent completely. The owners made it an extremely smooth check in process and provided lots of information about the area, from trail maps to restaurant menus. I’m hoping to come back in a few months to see the pollinator garden in bloom!

Awesome Weekend Getaway

We absolutely loved this property! Lori’s attention to detail, inside and out, made us feel at home. Everything we needed was provided and was very clean. It’s perfect if you want a secluded getaway, but still be close enough to town to go explore. My family and I really enjoyed the hiking trails (provided maps were a nice touch), fire pit, and the porch with the sunrise views (we even had a couple deer visit one morning). As others have mentioned, be sure to hike to the top of the trail behind the house, awesome views!!! Lori was very responsive and quick to answer any questions. She also gave us great recommendations for places to visit in town. We had lunch at the brewery in Strasburg our first day there and returned the next day to visit some shops and have ice cream. My only complaint is we didn’t have enough time! We didn’t want to leave and we all hope to return again soon! Thanks again!

A wonderful, quiet retreat

We really enjoyed our two days in the mountains. The cottage was wonderful - cozy and well appointed. We made use of the fireplace and the hot tub both days. We also took advantage of the hiking trails on the property and climbed to the top of the ridge, which was challenging but worth it. The TV signal wasn't very reliable (the internet relies on a dish and there was think cloud cover during our stay) but we didn't mind as it just helped us to unplug. The one thing we weren't prepared for was a lack of coffee. The cottage comes with a drip machine and some pantry items but coffee wasn't one of them and we didn't bring our own. If you don't want to miss out on your morning coffee ritual, be sure to bring your own. The towns of Strasburg and Woodstock were wonderful to explore and we'd love to return in the future. Definitely recommend this quiet cottage for anyone looking for a cozy experience and a chance to get away from it all.

Peaceful, Serene, Perfect Stay!

Everything at this lovely place of peace and serenity was pure perfection. The owners are amazing and went over and beyond to make the stay exceptional. The hot tub was heaven, pure heaven! The cottage is fully stocked, modern, clean, and just the perfect space to decompress, unwind, and reset. A real cute place with a cozy layout and amazing bathroom and shower. It was just secluded enough but not overly challenging to get to. The upper porch was great for hanging out and watching the pair of hummingbirds that seem to have made the area home. The bed was comfortable but also a little squeaky and noisy. We really enjoyed our stay and it was just the relaxing getaway we needed.

Anniversary weekend

This property is amazing, the pictures don’t do the house justice. It’s the perfect size for a couples getaway, far enough away from the main house that you don’t see anyone else, and close to plenty of wineries and other area attractions. The wife and I would definitely love to stay here in again in the future.

Great Spot for a Quick Trip

This house is in a great location and has a very peaceful view and feel. Nice and clean and wonderful stay. Would highly recommend to anyone in my circle. I plan to come to this property again!One small issue- the wasps are making homes in the porch furniture and made sitting outside a little intense, they were not aggressive but they were often times resting somewhere they may accidentally get squished/sting you. I am allergic to stings and carry an epi pin. The site forced me to rate the winery experience even though we did not go to a winery.

Wonderful Week Escape

Very happy with this rental. Road and property were easy to find and navigable with our non-4WD. Check in was a breeze and the owner friendly when we met him the last day. We lived in the hot tub and enjoyed not even having to leave the property to find hiking trails. Would stay again when we're next in the area even with the asian lady beetles! (The rating requires something about the winery but we didn't go there.)
