The gold-domed State House anchors a walkable city centre where you can browse indie shops and catch live music at Capitol Centre. History buffs should tour the Pierce Manse and McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Centre, then rent kayaks for a peaceful paddle on the Merrimack River.
A wonderful stay made possible by hosts extraordinaire Brian and Lynn who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
Thank you. We will be back.

This was our last stay on a trip through Maine and New Hampshire. We certainly waited for the best for last. Right from the start where Lynne took us through the history of the building and a tour with these grandly furnished and interesting rooms we knew we were in for a treat. Enjoyed a lovely fire outside with other guests and had a restful night's sleep. In the morning we were sent on our way with a filling and delicious breakfast.

Overall great! However, electrical 'Master Switch' at entrance to room is wired wrong - cannot switch-on ceiling light just outside of bathroom unless master switch is ON, which also requires kitchen lights to remain ON, annoying....
