We booked our stay "last minute" as we didn't want to spend a fortune on a hotel. Once we had booked the Sebel I sent them a message advising we were actually getting married and if they could give us an upgrade that would be really appreciated. We recently stayed for three nights in a refurbished Horizon Room at the Shangri-La Sydney and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The room was spotless, modern, and incredibly well equipped, nothing was overlooked. Great hotel, very new and the room was a good size with a good size fridge, kettle, and nice bathroom (agree with other reviews that lighting is terrible). For a long weekend, and vivid festival, this was a great value option, even if nth Sydney is a bit out of the way for some of the things we did. We had a great weekend and enjoyed our stay. Coles and aldi a few doors away too which is handy.

I have to say we have travelled to many places over the years and this is the nicest hotel room we have ever had. It appeared to have everything you could need and comfort as well. The staff were lovely, shout out to Kevin who assisted me with a payment issue. This Hotel Is attached to the Star, with light rail underneath and is also only a short walk to Pyrmont Bay ferry. I definitely intend to stay here again :)
