Bed and Breakfast in Colfax

"This place is a basic motel, clean and serviceable for an overnight stay, but not very pleasant to hang out in. It does not look as nice as the photos online. The desk staff was friendly. The positives are that the location in Grass Valley is convenient and the price is very reasonable compared to many of the lodgings in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area."

"Generally, this place is really in bad shape with scuffed walls, mold in the bathroom, indoor carpet of the halls smells so intensely of cover-up scent. The room looked like it hadnt been updated in 40 years besides furniture. The curtains were stained and ripped, the light shade dented. The staff was great, seemed super competent running a place where the owner just doesnt pull their weight in upkeep. All in all, I suppose you get what you pay for and 8/10 on hotels.com means little. It was still quiet after 10pm and the wifi worked well. I dropped a makeup bottle cap in the sink, which had no stopper, so it was gone forever. A lot of people smoking ourside. In one word: trashy"

"Best free breakfast I have had. The web site says there is a bar. This is technically incorrect. They have a "Manager's Happy Hour" with two complimentary drinks between 5 & 7 PM. Not a bar, but two free drinks."

"Front desk staff was nice, and thats where the good qualities end. The room was absolutely filthy. I could have forgiven the dirty floors and hairs all over the bathroom, but I was out the second we pulled the bedsheet back and found a used joint and ashes in between the sheets. Thankfully, the front desk staff was nice and understanding and processed a refund with no questions asked. Avoid this place like the plague!"

"Working on the road i look for the most financially viable option and this motel 6 was the one. At first impression i was astonished by how clean the area and lobby were. At first i had made contact with the manager while checking in, he was amazing. After the second week of staying there the manager followed through with my request of keeping the same room. The staff made sure i had everything i needed from room cleaning daily to fresh towels and bed sheets. If every motel6 followed in their foot step they would be more successful at keeping their customers happy. Thank you motel 6 Auburn CA staff! "
