LHP Certaldo Resort

"For our Tuscany tour, we decided to stay at LHP Certaldo Resort as it was very near to railway station. I turned out to be best location as train station is 7-9 min walk and area is very safe even at late evening. It is quiet location away from all noises and very easy to go to Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Cirque Terre without having to worry about driving. Check Train time tables to make the most of your time. The resort is an excellent property with all amenities and even a swimming pool ! They have included breakfast that is so nice with so many varieties to enjoy with plenty of choices for vegetarians. The staff is superb, lady at the front desk is so courteous and helpful in case if you have questions. Other staffs are equally nice and servers you with smile."
Hotel Il Castello

"Staying at Hotel Il Castello was a step back into history - a beautiful appointed historic building that had been sympathetically made over into a hotel/bar/restaurant, with panoramic views over Lower Certaldo. The bedrooms very clean, with rustic charm and furnishings. Modern functioning shower, TV, and AIRCON unit which was very welcome in the intensive 30+ degree heat of the day and night. The background music in the restaurant/bar always playing Jazz music - which, whilst not my favourite type of music, was actually very pleasant. Not surprising since the owner is a Jazz musician and either was OR is still heavily involved in the Jazz music industry. The only downside (and maybe only to British travellers?) was the absence of Tea/Coffee making facilities in your hotel room. From start to finish, hotel staff always helpful, always smiling and eager to assist in any way. Continental breakfast every morning with the options of cereals was marvellous. Certalo Alto (Upper Certaldo) where the hotel is positioned is in a fortified town and is very rustic and sympathetically restored without making everything look new, you KNOW without doubt that the area is set deep in history. Absolutely beautiful place. Dare I say it, younger people, or people without a car might find the lack of local amenities a bit of a challenge, but if you are looking for a sleepy, relaxing atmosphere, then this is the place for you. If the owner and staff see this, I really do want to thank them."

"Lovely place. Rooms are a nice nice. We stayed in a junior suite. Pool was lovely and the view from it was incredible. Ball games etc not allowed in the pool and the pool area bar didn’t open until about 5/6pm. This is not a criticism as it created a quiet and relaxed vibe which was fitting of the view and location, but worth noting. Breakfast was nice, we would have preferred a little more choice, but no complaints, they hosted a pizza night on one of our stays, the pizza was ok, we would have preferred to have the Tuscan dinner another night but didn’t work with our plans, All in all a lovely stay, would happily return."

"The family who host the property in Badia A Cerreto were amazing! Nothing was too much trouble and responses to WhatsApp's were super speedy.The villa is delightful and everything we needed was available. Pool was cleaned daily and immaculate.Air conditioning was effective and immediate. The location is perfect for visiting various Tuscan towns and cities - Lucca, Siena, Livorno, San Gimignano and of course the closest Certaldo. We loved the funicular up to the old town and all the delightful bars, restaurants, gelaterias...A perfect base for a magnificent family holiday."

"Villa Belsole exceeds the listing. We were a big party of 18 made up of five families who have holidayed together several times previously and this property met our expectations 100%. We did make use of the option to have additional beds which provided further flexibility for the sleeping arrangements and meant parents could have separate rooms from the children in all cases. Communication with Enzo and Christina was perfect and although there was a small misunderstanding during check-in regarding the additional cost of electricity and water for the week this was quickly resolved. We took advantage of using the local cook on-site for one evening which was an excellent choice and we were able to adjust the menu to suit our party's tastes and dietary needs - the food was wonderful and plentiful. Indoor and outdoor dining tables, which could seat us all, were made good use of and the pool gave a welcome break from the high temperatures in August and has a view which never failed to look anything but spectacular. Aircon operates throughout the property in all the rooms and makes for a very comfortable nights sleep. The villa is perfectly positioned for day trips to Florence, Siena and Pisa with the local town of Certaldo having well stocked Supermarkets. A perfect holiday which both the parents and children thoroughly enjoyed - highly recommended. Thank you."
