Steve was a fantastic host! Very easy to talk with and gave great travel tips in the area. The room was clean and comfortable. It wasn’t a very far drive to get to the city center, and there are a lot of good food options nearby. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Christchurch

What a wonderful stay! Both our hosts Steve and Chet were super helpful and friendly and made us feel completely relaxed. The old house has so much character, and the gardens were a real drawcard too. The house isn’t right in the city centre, but it is so easy to get around and everything is very close. We loved the quiet location with easy parking. It only took as a few minutes to get into the CBD. Steve and Chet have gone to a lot of effort with providing a map with all the highlights marked on it and even have further information such as restaurant and cafe recommendations on their website. The whole stay with them was great. I’d go back again in a heartbeat. It feels like visiting old friends, except that friends don’t go to this much effort to serve you such a great breakfast 😁

Nice property. Very quaint heritage home. Liked the hosts and breakfast. Located close to the CBD, with an uber trip to the CBD costing about $11 (or a half hour walk if you prefer). The shared bathroom is a bit inconvenient for the price but otherwise good.

Steve and Chet have created a charming and comfortable space for their guests. I stayed for 6 nights and explored Christchurch and the South Island by taking day trips. Steve and Chet were very helpful with suggestions and answering my many questions. There place is within walkable distance to the city center and close to public transportation. Definitely recommend

Steve was very friendly and helpful got sime good info about the area. The breakfast was very tasty as much toast and local jams as you wanted. Left before breakfast but Steve left us Cereals, Yoghurt and Fruit out in the kitchen area which we have not found anywhere else so gratefully appreciated. We are using buses so used Uber to get to Trans Alpine train station. Christchurch City centre is not to far to walk and the tramways are a must if you want to know about the city and the earthquakes with rebuilding.

Lovely comfortable stay

Lovely 3 night stay. Very warm welcome on arrival. Very comfortable and clean room, reasonably spacious. Good WiFi. Nice kitchen area with great coffee. Pleasant atmosphere at breakfast chatting with the hosts and the other guests. Really appreciated all the tips, particularly on places to eat and drink in that area of Christchurch.
