I was in a self catering studio a few minutes away from the main hotel. For me, that was perfect. The studio was clean, equipped, and a pleasant place to be, within walking distance of the Brewery Quarter and town centre. The bed was comfortable and I had great WiFi reception (the best of any hotel I've stayed in) which made it easy to do some work.
Downsides (very minor!):
1. Need a draining board in the kitchen.
2. Need the manual for the combi grill/microwave - couldn't figure it out for garlic bread (yes, I am a luddite with kitchen appliances!)
3. Breakfast was included but need to make it clearer that it is breakfast items provided (healthy) rather than a cooked one - I was very happy with it, though, and it was perfect for me. Just a comms thing for future guests.
But what I did like was the little things. For example, washing up liquid was provided, the usual hotel soaps in the bathroom, kitchen utensils, the lot. Plenty of tea & coffee, plus real milk as well as the little one serving pots. Sounds trivial but such things really can make a difference.
Parking is onsite and is spacious enough that your car is safe.
My job means I'm in a hotel once a week. This is the first one self catering and I really enjoyed it.
I've already booked again!
