Chill out in the serene and charming Chaweng Noi Beach, a quieter alternative to its busier neighbour.
Situated to the south of one of the most bustling areas in Koh Samui, this calm oasis is cut off from Chaweng Beach by a small headland. Chaweng Noi (literally meaning “Little Chaweng”) is the perfect place if you want to stay on the fringes of the excitement and activity to the north without becoming overwhelmed. There are a number of upmarket resorts and villas dotting the shoreline so take your pick!If your idea of paradise is resting and relaxing on a beach with soft white sand and turquoise blue water, then this is the place for you. Indulge in the peace and quiet that this beach affords, and retreat to the ample shade provided by the towering coconut palms should it become too hot. Take a dip in the sea and enjoy some snorkelling, or take a stroll down the beach and check out the other resorts. If hunger strikes, grab a bite to eat back at your resort or visit another one close by. The beach can only be accessed through the hotels so food vendors don’t usually venture down to Chaweng Noi. With this in mind, you can lie back and relax in absolute peace. If you tire of the sun, why not take a drive south toward Lamai? The view from the headland back toward Chaweng Noi is spectacular so make sure to bring your camera with you to capture some incredible shots of the bay.For the best nightlife on the island, make your way north to Chaweng and dance the night away. With a huge number of nightclubs, bars and restaurants to choose from, you’ll definitely find something to suit your mood. Younger party-goers tend to head straight to the vibrant Green Mango strip, a hub of activity and fun.Chaweng Noi is geared towards an older, more family-oriented market, compared to the younger crowds that flock to Chaweng so you can expect the prices to be a little higher. However, this is a small price to pay for peace and quiet.
