"The property is located on a site which includes a hotel and a group of small private homes. None of which is a negative. The area is very quiet, but you definitely need a car. The surrounding area is sensationally beautiful and well worth a visit and we enjoyed our trips out very much. The property itself was disappointing. "Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Lovely large bedroom and ensuite but high deep bath, difficult to climb into. Breakfast and service excellent, lovely garden too."

"I have stayed in a fair few inns and hotels in the English countryside. This was one of my least favorites. It is going for a more royal feel, but the decor is outdated 90s black and silver with wavy mirrors that don’t match the royal seal carpets. The bed was very hard, lumpy, and uncomfortable. It doesn’t not have a great view or pleasant grounds. There are way better quaint inns and hotels in the Dorset area, find a different one!"

"Rooms clean and warm but could do with a freshen up decoratively. Staff were very helpful. My only issue was the lack of disabled facilities. The ground floor rooms were sorted, but no walk in shower was available for us, and the small lift in the bar area was not working, nor did I see anyone attending to it during our 2 night stay. This limited where my family could sit for meals."
