"I hate leaving things like this but I think everyone would agree with me here when I say this. I pulled up in the car park and decided I would book a night there and then as it was in a gorgeous setting and a lovely day. Anyway as I was 2 hours away from Check in time I went for a walk, I then got a call from my mams care home saying she had taken a tumble and could I come straight away. This was at 2.15pm ( 15 mins past check in time) but I was still out on my walk and had not checked in. I went straight to the holly hill inn and explained my situation, I simply asked because I had booked through hotels.com and had not checked in yet if I could simply move my booking to another night maybe tomorrow and come back and I was told no! I explained again and said I am not asking for a refund but simply to switch the night stay for another so I wouldn’t lose out. To be told no! I spent over £100 for nothing and I really don’t understand why they wouldn’t just let me switch the night ( obviously like for like, so not a weekend) as I had not even got the key and entered the room! Not how I would treat my customers this much I know! "

"We have stayed at Flowery Dell many times over the last 15 years. We have stayed in this lodge before and like the fact that it has an upstairs toilet. The lodge was spotlessly clean as always. There was a lovely welcome pack. The wifi seems to be a lot more reliable than on previous visits. We love the fact that there is a washing machine and dishwasher. I did ask for a mattress topper to be put on the double bed, prior to arriving,this made a big difference to how comfortable it was. The hot tub was checked twice each day and was always super clean and a great temperature. We were super lucky with the weather. The position of the lodge felt very private and had a beautiful outlook over grass and trees at the back. There was loads of wildlife near the lodge, rabbits, squirrels and even two deer. Highly recommend this lodge to two adults or two adults and two children, we have stayed here with adult kids but the single beds were a squeeze. I think for a short break it would probably be ok. The stairs are quite steep but there is a safety gate at the top. We will definitely be returning."

"We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Flowery Dell. Willow Lodge was spotlessly clean & very well equipped, there was even a welcome pack of Yorkshire goodies! The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was fab!"

"The room was absolutely filthy - even the kettle was dirty. The bathroom had black mould in it and there was mould / damp above the bed. The window didn't open so we couldn't even air the room. I dropped some clothing on the floor and when I picked it up it was covered in dust / dirt and small curly hairs... I know the room was cheap - the furniture was all very old and dated which is fine but the very least I expect from a hotel room is for it to be clean. The breakfast was the only redeeming feature - the breakfast was good and the breakfast chef was lovely. "

"Lovely big room, comfortable bed, friendly welcoming staff! Only downside the room was overlooking the market square which made it noisy after pubs closed! Overall pleasant stopover! Will hopefully spend more time exploring Richmond next visit!"

"we love flowery dell. This was our 13th visit. Stayed in lots of the lodges. We love the peace and quiet and the surrounding area. Looking forward to the next time."

"This was my third stay at Flowery Dell and the second of which I stayed in Larch. It was my husband's first time, as I usually come with friends. Larch is cute, compact and perfect for a couples get away, although it sleeps more, the living space is a bit small for more than 2 people I would say. Lovely touch for dogs is that they get their own little hamper Inc a small toy (Winnie still has her first ever one and is very happy with a new addition). The little hamper for humans is also a lovely touch Inc, really, coffee, milk, hot choc, shortbread biscuits and little chocs. A big thank you for the bottle of fizz for my 40th Birthday too, that was very kind. Tiny suggestions that we think would help is a small side table for the sofa at the end near the kitchen, we brought a stool down from the front bedroom to put drinks on so wasn't an issue. Also maybe some cosy blankets on the sofa as the leather makes it really cold to sit on, again we brought a blanket down from the front bedroom so not an issue, only little touches that would would improve the flow and comfort downstairs."
