Wild weather week in Carmel!
Second time at Carmel woods location. Enjoyable. Weather was challenging with wind and rain. I was there as a volunteer for the Pebble Beach AT&T. Electricity went off in the area for at least 24 hours - tournament was called.

Solid but not spectacular
Overall, I thought the place was fine. It is a great location and very safe. It was a little close to the freeway for my taste and you could hear cars but that is fine. They provided heaters but without the heaters it does get very cold. So make sure to turn those on. Otherwise, I would give it a solid B+

Relaxing stay
Great location and comfortable rental! My wife, dog and I stayed here for just a couple of nights and everything was great and as described. You feel right at home here and the bed was very comfortable!

Perfect quiet getaway
Stay way great. Location was nestled up above the Forrest line. Gorgeous view. Hosts were responsive and friendly. Definitely would stay here again

Carmel Woods
Carmel Woods was just as described. Great location in the woods. We saw a bobcat meander right beneath our window! Short distance to Carmel by the Sea, Monterey, and Pacific Grove.

Lovely hideaway in the woods
VRBO - easy to find this fabulous property. Had 3 different seating areas including outside on a deck with views of the wood. Small kitchen had everything you could possibly want. Small bathroom but fabulous shower. Amazing comfy bed . Great directions and welcome instructions from the owner.

Unfortunately my stay was not ideal. A dog that barked quite a bit. I’m a light sleeper so it did affect my stay. This unit is below the main home so there was lots of noise coming from the ceiling. Creaking floorboards and plenty of steps from the dog walkers walking in/out. It’s spacious but was really not very clean. Lots of cobwebs and spiders. Bathroom sink that didn’t drain properly. On a positive note the bed was super comfy. And the sheets were freshly laundered.

This is the first negative review I have had. On the other rental site I average 4.9 out of 5. Apologies for any inconvenience. A brief explanation- we were away so a dog sitter was here with his mother. Unfortunately they were not clued in to how the sound travels and what the dog needed so they left it unattended- hence the barking. As for cobwebs, that seems to be the norm where we live. If we knew there was a drain problem we would have addressed it. We do not live in the unit so sometimes our guests need to inform us of any issue.

Charming Carmel Experience
We had a great visit to this charming Carmel home. The home is at the edge of a forest with a spectacular view from a private deck. The hosts were kind and helpful. Being dog friendly was great! We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Little Getaway
Wonderful, quiet, central location, and perfect spot for a quick getaway. It’s hard to find a good spot to rent for a couple with dogs. This relaxing studio was more than we expected with an entry and kitchenette separate from the bedroom with fireplace and separate from a dressing room next to the bathroom. The dogs loved all the smells and visited Charlie at his dog door. The owners are very easy going and very excited to visit the dogs—or I mean saying hi to the dogs when they went to visit them. Such an easy stay with the fenced yard and dog door! The dogs just used the dog door and enjoyed the yard. We will definitely stay here again.

Dog friendly stay in great location
The property was clean and included all that we needed. It felt very dog friendly, and our brief interaction with the host was pleasant. The location was convenient, in a nice residential neighborhood close to Carmel. The bed was comfortable, and altho the space felt a bit cramped, it was certainly good value for the price, and met our needs.

Wonderful, relaxing stay in the forest canopy!
This suite was perfect for recuperating and relaxing after 3 days of hiking in a big sur area. Susanne and Reg were perfectly accommodating and very hospitable. The suite feels like you are perched in the forest canopy because of the beautiful view that it offers. It was wonderful to have the kitchenette and fireplace. We made great use of both! Thanks for a lovely stay

Relaxing and Comfortable
I totally enjoyed my stay in the studio. The hosts were wonderful and they loved my Queensland Heeler, Sheila! She gave them both kisses, which is unusual for her. Their dog Charlie is a polite gentleman! The deck is huge and the yard is safe for dogs. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. 5 stars!

Great little studio!
This place was better than was advertised, in our opinion. This was perfect for the stay. Charlie is a very sweet dog and came to visit a few times with our pups. Rog was there and we had a great conversation. There were no issues, except the WiFi did not get great service, and neither did our cell phones, but we were on vacation so who cares! :) Oh, and the bed!!!!! The memory foam bed was hard to get out of daily! If we come back up here, which we typically do each year, we would definitely like to stay here again!

A charming , homey antique trimmed hideaway.
Could be an-issue if someone has mobility issues but directions were excellent and access was clear and easy. The motion sensors worked perfectly to illuminate your path and it felt like a bungalow in the woods, on top of a hill. Just enchanting. Only a hot plate to cook ( I hadn’t noticed) but managed our poached eggs in the mornings and that was all I needed. Extensive collection of dvds, cds, albums, you name it! We took our older cat and she was quite contented once we laid down the plastic owl outside the gate. She wouldn’t come inthe sitting room- as the owls eyes terrified her! The last night we even got to enjoy a real owls serenade for some time . Just magical. Thanks for the thoughtful and well appointed hideaway! Very well situated ever so close to everything!! And easy to find.

Cozy Hide away
We were looking for a quite, cozy relaxing get away. This was perfect. Everything you need in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, laundry, dog door and BBQ. We will definitely come back. Very quiet, easy access to Pacific Grove and Monterey. Everyone is very nice.

Clean and Quaint
The studio was clean. No paper to light a fire and only 1 space heater. The walkway was a little unsafe but overall the studio was in a great location and had everything that we needed at a great price.

A little slice of Heaven right in Carmel
This was a wonderful place for my wife and I to stay for a week. Reg and Suzanne are showed wonderful hospitality while at the same time respecting our privacy. If you are looking to go to Carmel and not break the bank I would highly recommend this property. The Aquarium passes were also a big perk that saved us the $49.99 pp entrance fee. We met family members there and they loved it so much they purchased the Ocean Advocate program so they can come back. I hope you getting a commission on that Reg....LOL. See you again in the future for sure

Very clean, gorgeous views, easy to get every where, many amenities!
We were very impressed with this location. We loved all the charm! BBQ available, a nice yard to have our dogs roam in also and so comfortable and clean! Gorgeous views from the huge windows and also the owners were nice enough to let us use their Monterey bay aquarium passes ! We definitely will be back!!

Cozy & Charming
We loved our stay at this studio. It was perfect for my husband and I and our dog. The studio is a charming, decorated with antiques, with a lovely view of the woods right from the sitting area and from the bedroom. Access to the lower deck for us and our dog was delightful...and the host was gracious, making us feel welcome but not intruding on our time at all. The studio had everything we could need, from toiletries to creamer in the fridge; tv & internet, books, guides to the area and games.
