Perfect Boutique Hotel
Such an incredible hotel. It felt more like staying with friends. The owners came to chat with us at breakfast everyday and see if they could help arrange plans or reservations. Blessings, the manager, was incredibly kind. The area surrounding the hotel was nice and clean. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at the beautifully stylish Underberg House with great hosts Anne and Bruce who were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Ideally located for sightseeing in Cape Town and walking distance to good local restaurants. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We would highly recommend this lovely guesthouse.

Good location, easy to find, about 40 minutes walk to V&A. Great views of Table Mountain from veranda. Large room, good breakfast. Great hosts full of ideas and information.

Great stay in a Fab place....
Wonderful and elegant B and B. Great hosts who run a really first class establishment , breakfast was epic with everything cooked beautifully. The rooms are spotless and comfortable . We were returning back to the UK on a late flight and we were allowed access to store our luggage and freshen up late in the afternoon. I would highly recommend the Underberg with the only slight negative being the hilly location .

This place is pure perfection. Wonderful staff, excellent breakfast, comfortable and spacious rooms/bathroom. The house is beautifully decorated. There is also a great selection of bars and restaurants within walking distance. We loved this area of town.

Home away from home
Traveling solo for the first time, I picked Underberg House based on reviews commenting on Anne and Bruce's special attention to their customers, I was not disappointed; they are the best hosts ever. Advice on sightseeing, what to do, where to eat, help with getting organized, etc. Place is conveniently located, far enough to escape hustle and bustle of Long street but a short cab drive from it or table mountain cable car (beautiful views from the hotel), walking distance from Boo Kaap, etc. Breakfast is delicious and made to your taste. Wifi works great. Thank you Anne and Bruce!

Good location for visiting Capetown attractions

Great guest house in Cape Town
Underberg House is a lovely guest house and Anne, Bruce and their staff made us very welcome. We can definitely recommend a stay there if you are visiting Cape Town and we will be going back there ourselves sometime in the near future.

Space, comfort and fantastic service
On a 4 week trip we'd stayed in several great places but the Underberg Guest House was among the very best. Spacious rooms, spotlessly clean, and super breakfast from delightful staff. And it has its own borehole for water in the Cape Town drought, though we were careful not to waste it. Thoroughly recommended.

Fabulous B&B. Spacious and airy. Immaculate furnishings and spotlessly clean. The proprietors are welcoming and helpful; nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is excellent In Tamberskloef area which is a short taxi ride from the Waterfront but has good local eateries. Would definitely stay there again

I have recently returned from a wonderful holiday in Cape Town much enhanced by my holiday accommodation. The Underberg was spotless, the breakfasts excellent and one felt very secure (I was a lady on her own). Bruce and Ann, the proprietors were charming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Wonderful B&B in a classic colonial style building
We were given a warm welcome and made to feel like family. Our rooms were large, airy, very comfortable and equipped to a high standard. Breakfasts were well prepared and presented. All in all this was the best of our accommodation in SA. It's possible to walk into the town centre, but a taxi to the harbour side centre only costs around R60 - R100 (less than £6). There is off street parking for 3 cars at Underberg, so we were able to park our hire car. If you are not familiar with Cape Town, it's not to far to the main office for the hop on-hop off buses, and the red route which includes the Table Mountain cable way base station stop, has a stop a few streets from Underberg. It's not central but its pretty close, and away from the busy main roads.

Bruce and Anne took exceptional care of us - from arranging pick up from the airport to providing insightful advice over a superb breakfast every morning. The house is beautiful and enormously spacious. Super location within a short Uber ride or a reasonable walk to all the top attractions that Cape Town has to offer.

Bruce and Anne were the most lovely hosts! They were so helpful from the moment we booked our trip and made our time in Cape Town so memorable. Underberg is in a good location, very clean & comfortable, and had superb breakfast. I would love to return and stay with them again!

Elegant guest house in quiet, residential area
We had a fabulous 3 night stay at underberg where we were looked after by Anne and Bruce who made our first trip to Cape Town stress-free and thoroughly enjoyable - from arranging a taxi to collect us from the airport to advising us on the best way way to explore this stunning, diverse city and what to do on our onward travels in South Africa. The guest house is exquisite and breakfast quite delicious. First rate.

Fantastic Guesthouse in Tamboerskloof
We stayed here in mid-July with two of our daughters. We cannot say enough good things about Underberg. Anne and Bruce were fabulous hosts who made sure we were well taken care of. This included making dinner reservations and organizing day trips. FYI, Chris and his team were great tour guides for our two daytrips--one to the Winelands, the other down the Cape. We had Kyle as our guide for both days. For the Winelands, we got into the car and he asked what we enjoyed/liked doing and customized our trip to suite our tastes. Not everyone in our group was into wine tasting, so we threw in some chocolate tasting and a great stop-off in Franschhoek. We had a great stay at Underberg. Be prepared for a full English Breakfast every morning!

Sist gang jeg bodde på Underberg House var for ca 12 år siden. Siden da har stedet skiftet eier og fått en betydelig "ansiktsløftning". Men, man har beholdt den gamle "Cape Townianske stilen" - og godt er det. Rom, service og mat var utmerket. En liten detalj manglet: Vannflaske på rommet. Parkering av bil er også en utfordring,

Das Hotel ist sehr schön und liegt in der Nähe vom Signal Hill und Tafelberg. Das Hotel ist mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und sehr stilisch eingerichtet. Sehr schönes Haus, stilvoll eingerichtet mit sehr netten Gastgebern. Das B&B liegt in einem ruhien Wohnviertel und relativ zentral. KLoof- und Long Street sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Tafelberg, Waterfront und sonstige Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Bowl und im Umkreis von 4-6 km sind gut per Uber oder Taxi erfahrbar. Hervorragendes Frühstück und gut bestückte Bar zur Selbstbedienung.

Für Autofahrer super gelegen (Waterfront 10 Minuten). 5 Fuß-Minuten vom Hotel gibt es leckere Restaurants. Die Inhaber sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist einfach super... uns hat (außer einem Kühlschrank) nichts gefehlt. Von der Terrasse aus sieht man den Tafelberg. Von unserem Zimmer auch den Signal Hill. Parken am Haus war nie ein Problem. Gerne wieder 😀

Allez-y sans hésitation!
Nous recommandons vivement cette magnifique maison d’hôte, qui nous a enchantés. Les propriétaires sont d’une très grande gentillesse, le petit déjeuner est délicieux, la décoration de la maison est magnifique, le lit est confortable et le wifi marche très bien. Le quartier est sûr et on peut aller le soir à pied au restaurant, d’ailleurs il y en a plein de sympa à quelques minutes.

Skip the hotels when you go to Cape Town and book Underberg House instead! We had an amazing stay and it was really hard, especially for me, to leave. It felt like staying with friends. The Underberg is a very beautiful building in Victorian style. The neighborhood is calm and save and the rooms are very comfortable and are furnished with much love and great detail. Every detail was so unique and fit in so well with the surroundings. The owner, especially the Underberg lady, will join you at the breakfast table every morning to chat if you like! :-) They make your eggs how you prefer (scrambled, boiled, omelette; you order they make it for you). They definitely understood the true meaning of hospitality. To conclude, we had an unforgettable stay and recommend this guesthouse to anyone going to Cape Town! Special Thanks! :-) V & C
