The best area to stay in Butlers Falls is the Central Lakeside area, particularly for those seeking convenience and direct access to the main attractions.

This neighbourhood is the hub of activity, centred around the picturesque Butlers Lake. You'll find a promenade lining the waterfront, dotted with cafes, local eateries, and boutique shops. The main street, Lakeview Drive, runs parallel to the lake and is where most of the town's amenities are located. It's very walkable, making it easy to stroll to dinner or enjoy the lake views.

Couples will find the Central Lakeside area particularly appealing. Many accommodations here offer stunning lake views and easy access to romantic lakeside walks or sunset cruises. There are also several fine-dining restaurants superb for an evening out, all within a short walk from your hotel.

For families, the Central Lakeside area is also an excellent choice. The proximity to the lake means easy access to paddle boating or swimming areas.

The best time to visit Butlers Falls is during the shoulder seasons of autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November), when the weather is pleasantly mild and the natural beauty of the region is at its peak.

Autumn offers comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like bushwalking through the Butlers Falls National Park or exploring the local vineyards. The changing colours of the foliage around the falls add a lovely backdrop to your visit.

Spring brings slightly warmer weather, generally between 18°C and 28°C, and the landscape bursts with wildflowers. This season is great for enjoying the scenic walking tracks around the falls and picnicking by the river. Many of the local farms and orchards are also open for fruit picking during this time, which is a nice activity for families.

While summer (December to February) can be hot, averaging 25°C to 35°C, it's also when the waterfalls are at their most impressive due to higher rainfall. Winter (June to August) is cooler, with temperatures from 8°C to 18°C, offering a cosy escape, though some outdoor activities might be less comfortable.
