I book hotels based on reviews but really I'm not that impressed. Check in was weird, the receptionist kindly filled out the necessary bits on the form to fill out but one of these was to sign up to rewards. Not mandatory at all. When I challenged this he said it's free to join, which is completely besides the point. Apparently there is free wifi here as well but I wasn't told what this was as is usually the case. I couldn't be bothered to find out as I have so much data on my phone anyway. Wasn't informed about the gym or pool.
I was surprised when I was told that reception is on level 4 so I had to do DOWN two levels for my room, even though the reception is at street level. Gives one an idea of how steep the hills are around here. As a result, great view of the car park. Curtains across for the entire stay. Was not impressed by the warehouse block style ceiling either, regardless of whatever purpose it's supposed to serve.
Amenities were okay. Microwave, tea/coffee and minibar provided, decent TV, nice looking furniture, decent bed and bedding. Modern bathroom, though spare toilet rolls would be nice.
Overall a pleasant stay. I wouldn't stay again, only because I felt for the money paid it was a little too "no frills" for my liking, but I wouldn't dissuade anyone from staying... unless you intend to bring a car ($30 per day!)
