"Villa Abejita is as advertised; lush and beautiful yard with a refreshing pool; secure, spacious, and well appointed villa; short walks to the spectacular beach of Playa Negra, small grocery stores, and at least two great restaurants. It was an easy drive to Puerto Viejo, Cahuita National Park and other wonderful locations. Laurie and her local colleagues were very responsive, friendly and helpful. Five stars and two big thumbs up!"

"The place “looks” how the listing presents itself to be Check in process- it’s a code system to get into main gate then press an inside button and main gate will open so you can park By end of stay- over the course of our stay it stopped working and your literally locked out until caretaker come to open I use the word caretaker lightly Lock to get into unit now is a “smart” lock this was a major concern it stopped working after day 1 kept jamming and after back forth with owner who was not pleasant the room cleaners did assist with owner on phone who realize it was not us it’s the lock then provided a key that we had to use for one of the rooms to enter thru which was annoying but we managed. The Unit itself when you enter is clean looking The main bathroom from living room pipe started to leak under sink maintenance guy came looked did nothing but said it was fixed Master bedroom—- you know when water sits and that sewage smell that’s how this room smells it comes from the shower and bathroom These drains need to be cleaned or this smell will never go away that continued for whole stay. The fan in master bedroom noisy and shakes. None of the windows or door have a screen so you can’t really open freely as mosquitos come in This place is a good rental but only temporary quick fixes and will always have this issue There is no where to hang anything towels while you shower, if you want to hang jackets. The term luxury shouldn’t be used here. Needs a toilet paper holder. "

"It’s a wonderful property with beautiful green lush gardens on the beach. The positive energy in this hotel is not something you can buy and they have it. It’s very relaxing and fun place to be. Will gladly go back again. Breakfast was delicious and with many options and the room we stayed as was very comfortable. Not all rooms are the same so just check that it’s a good choice for you before booking."

"This was the perfect place for us to stay as we explored the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. We spent time on the beach, had cocktails at the lovely Banana Azul a 3 minute walk down the beach, rented bikes a 5 minute walk away at Pura Rides and biked a 30km beach hopping route to Manzanillo and took tuk-tuks to and from the main drag of Puerto Veijo where the bars, shops and restaurants are. Regarding the house - some standout things: 1) incredible check in process and easy communication with the property manager via whatsapp. It was all super slick and transparent. 2) The pool seemed small when we first arrived but it was the BEST. We went in every day for a nice cool off plunge after hiking, biking and beaching and 3) the location - PERFECT for nice relaxing mornings hearing the waves crashing and just a little 5 minute tuk tuk to Hot Rocks to party or Luna Mays to shop! LOVED every minute!"

"When I say the owners of this establishment make you feel like your home it’s a MUST STAY I will definitely be back because it’s just that great. I wud say it’s a hidden gem of Costa Rica nestled not too far from everything but not too close either the morning coffee delivery and the breakfast each morning make this place even that much better I can’t say enough good things about The Promise 😉"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Buddha house! It was beautiful, bright, clean and the back yard was huge and lush with greenery. The house was very well equipped, the bed was comfortable and the shower was great. (Tip: To get hot water in the kitchen, you have to run the bathroom sink at the same time, otherwise there is not enough pressure to get the hot water tank working.) It was a quiet location which was a nice change after having stayed in other towns where dogs were constantly barking and motorcycles were ripping up and down the roads. This Vrbo is a 5-minute drive to a black sand beach and 10-20 minutes to several other beaches, restaurants and shops. We got a pin drop to find the place and ended up having to message the host to get the exact location, but otherwise checking in was smooth. Be prepared to share the house with random insects, but that is the nature of places in Costa Rica, as houses are not completely sealed like they are in North America. We had tiny ants in the kitchen and I brought quite a few centipedes back outside but like I said, that's something to expect in Costa Rica. We were only planning to stay 3 nights, but we enjoyed the house and Puerto Viejo so much that we extended our stay to a full week. It was just as nice to lounge around the house as it was to go out and do things. I would definitely stay at this Vrbo again and just hope it will still be affordable when we go back to Costa Rica! It was a phenomenal deal for all that we got! "
