Great staff we had problems with another hotel in the area due to cleanliness I contacted them and they helped get us in the room early so we could leave the bad hotel sooner. Super friendly super clean place. Nice staff and good drinks by the pool. The breakfast was delicious as well

We stayed for a week at the Umami Hotel and it was wonderful. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and offered helpful suggestions. We loved our time in Puerto Viejo and at this hotel. We ate breakfast at Umami everyday and they served good-size portions of high quality food. Excellent location, just a short walk to the beach and nearby restaurants. The staff were fantastic, and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend booking one of the rooms with a private sun bed by the pool for an extra touch of relaxation.
