"We were greeted at the counter by a woman who said she doesn't even work at the hotel, and then we were told she couldn't accept our online reservation. The hotel owner refused to give us a room unless we paid by the day, so he could get the non-discounted pay. We decided to leave and take our chances on finding a hotel last minute - during the peak of scalloping season and the weekend before the 4th of July. "This property just keeps giving! I booked the stay as we drove past the lodge on our way to Peck's Cove in Ozello for dinner. The weather was magical and our stay in Crystal River memorable. I never knew to add swim with a manatee to my bucket list until now! Paddletail Waterfront Lodge is a special place. The grounds are lovely. The many different groups of rooms/buildings in great shape. Right on the marina with kayakers paddling out for adventure! Our room was large, very clean and the bed and bedding very comfortable."
