"Was very average. Beds were small, coffee pot had moldy coffee filter from previous guest. The shower water temperature cpuld not be maintained! Parking was overpriced and tiny spots. The air conditioner wouldnt shut off!"

"We had a perfectly reasonable stay, with a nice harbor view and no problems. We were nearly put off by reviews that called the place "shabby". No, not at all. It's well kept but dated instead. But not in a bad way. Downsides are the heat made a "clunk" sound each time it turned on and despite having double windows (porch and room) that side of the room was still cold. Upsides are price, location, staff and generally solid basic room. I hope they don't mess it up with a tacky renovation or cheap materials."

"My experience got off to a rocky start because the room assigned was unsuitable for two guests. It was at best a true bachelor room even though I had reserved and paid for a room suitable for two. Unfortunately the error could not be corrected until the next day when a new room was assigned. It appears the turmoil of changing hotel names (and owners?) may have played a role. Very disappointing. In spite of this and in spite of the decor and conveniences being dated, I was impressed with the courtesy, professionalism and friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. The rest of my stay was quiet and enjoyable. If you are looking for good, clean and quiet accommodation at a reasonable price in downtown Vancouver the Hotel Opportunity ( most recent name) is a very good choice."
