Great location and service. Loved bar and restaurant. However, hotel is old and this shows in rooms. They are small and airless. The bathroom was mouldy.

I did not realise that I needed to book for breakfast and evening meals as I had not had to do this before in my, not very frequent, stays in hotels in the UK. Consequently, my disabled wife and myself had to go out for meals. A disappointment for us. The staff were very considerate and understanding of our deafness and my wife's mobility problems.

Very close to station and an easy walk to shops and pubs. Aside from a really creaky floor, the room was quiet and although the hotel was overheated, our room had opening windows for fresh air. TV was a bit small but Wifi was good. Could do with some modernising but our stay was pleasant.
