"One of the very best places to relax as a couple. My wife and I stayed four nights at the start of our honeymoon. We checked in after flying and started with their Asmara Jaya spa treatment, which was the very best spa experience we’ve had anywhere. A body scrub, full body massage and a bath, full of flowers and petals in the spa, with a bottle of wine was great value and the perfect way to begin our stay. We were in one of three jungle view villas with a pool and it really was the most beautiful room and outside space. I can’t imagine a better setting. All the staff were really keen to help and the hotel put on some nice daily activities, entertainment and complimentary sundown cocktails. The main pool area was stunning and the best we’ve experienced anywhere. The food was excellent, with a massive variety of choice and the breakfasts were some of the best we’ve had. You can choose more than one cooked offer as well as from a fresh buffet. The coffee is also some of the had. The only possible criticism would be that some of the staff could have done with better training. One struggled to open a bottle of wine or champagne and we sometimes needed to top up our own glasses. They are lovely and their will is there though, so I’m nitpicking as it didn’t put a dampener on our stay. Location is not that central to Ubud, but they offer a free daily shuttle should you want to visit and the setting is amazing with all the amenities you might need for a relaxing stay,"

"We had a pleasant stay overall. The highlight of this hotel was definitely the staff—they were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality truly made our stay memorable. The breakfast was excellent, with a semi-buffet setup offering a great selection of fresh and delicious food. It was one of the best parts of our stay. We booked a private pool with a valley view, but it wasn't really the valley view we were expecting. Also, while the room is marketed as having a private pool, it isn't completely private. There are rooms directly above, and we could hear guests making noise at night, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quiet, secluded experience. Another thing to be aware of is the location. The hotel is quite far from Ubud Center, so you'll need transportation if you plan to explore the area frequently. Overall, the outstanding staff and excellent breakfast were the highlights of our stay. However, the limited valley view, the lack of privacy in the pool villa, and the distance from Ubud Center are all worth considering before booking."

"We had a wonderful stay at MAAR Resort and truly enjoyed every moment. The resort offers beautiful views, a peaceful ambience, and a relaxing atmosphere that made our vacation even more special. A special thanks to Krisna and the other team members at Cantina Classe Restaurant, who were incredibly friendly, attentive, and ensured we had a great dining experience throughout our stay. The food and service were excellent. We would also like to thank the reception team for their warm welcome and seamless assistance, as well as the resort drivers, who were always punctual, courteous, and made getting around the resort easy and enjoyable. The Floating Breakfast, Romantic Dinner, and our treatment at Svaha Spa were all exceptional experiences and among the highlights of our stay. The spa was incredibly relaxing, and the therapists provided a wonderful experience that left us feeling completely refreshed. Everything was thoughtfully arranged and added a special touch to our vacation. In fact, every member of the resort staff was warm, welcoming, and always greeted us with a smile, making us feel right at home. Thank you to the entire team at MAAR Resort for your outstanding hospitality. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with beautiful surroundings, excellent service, and unforgettable experiences. We hope to visit again in the future!"

"Good hotel not top luxurious but very traditional. Hotel slightly aging and products in room including linens not quite at 5 star level. But very unique setting quiet food is good so if you are not an absolutely high end cliscerning guest, then this Ubud west spot is for you"

"All-round we had a really lovely stay. The only drawback was that the pool didn’t seem maintained as well as we would have liked, so we avoided having a swim. This was a shame but otherwise we had a lovely stay, cared for really well by the staff, especially Eka who was warm and friendly and catered to our every needs with a smile. Thank you!"
