"Check in and interactions with staff were very pleasant. Unfortunately, we were required to change rooms because a light blocking blind was not functional in the window which faced bright parking lot lights. This was a non-smoking hotel which is wonderful. When we were moved to the replacement room and collapsed on the bed to look at the ceiling, we noticed that the smoke detector in the room was covered securely buy a plastic Ziploc bag. A quick phone call to the front desk assured us at the bag should not be there. We removed it easily. However, while the room did not smell smoky, it's obvious that that someone had opted to smoke inside the room in the recent past. The front desk was advised of these two matters upon our departure. They were very apologetic and we understand that housekeeping may not notice every change to a room, but we were very appreciative their attention. Overall, it's a good place to stay in Farmington."
