"Ben was an amazing host! He was kind, welcoming and incredibly helpful with everything. We were fortunate to have a whole month there so we could really slow down and appreciate the Pura Vida spirit. We enjoyed our little "tree house" thoroughly. It felt very authentically Costa Rican, warm, earthy and full of heart. We spent at least an hour a day under the fans on the top porch in the Hammocks! We saw monkeys in our yard most days! The most incredible part of our stay was the magical Playa Avellanas and all of the friends we made there. We miss it already!!"

"We love Cabinas Las Olas for its uniqueness. If your looking a resort this is not it. If your looking calm , quiet not crowed very simple place to stay this is it. Food is amazing and the staff is also great. "

"Clean room. Owned by a kind and thoughtful couple. Even their dog was sweet. They are super approachable and made everything very easy. Including helping me arrange a private airport transfer to and from the villa to LIR ($120 USD each way). This property is well-maintained, and the common areas are always clean and comfortable. The bathrooms come equipped with bidets, which is very helpful/thoughtful. So you don't need to pack a portable one. Every person I met on staff was quite pleasant. Annabella is an absolute delight! Breakfast (ovo-vegetarian) was tasty, and fresh coffee was prepared every morning. The shared kitchen is stocked with any utensil you'd need to prepare a meal (+mini fridge in room) Things to note: - try to shop for some groceries before checking in. It's easier to stop on your way to the property, and not think about it later. - if you depend on electricity for an item (e.g. using a CPAP), be prepared for some (very brief <5 minutes) brown/blackouts in this area. They only happened during the day (and late morning. ~8:30am), when I visited - there are two sodas/restaurants less than a block away. So if you didn't grocery shop, you will be just fine. - there is a small shop (Surya Natural) for essentials 15 minutes (walk) away, and a small beer/surf shop (~15 minute walk down playa Avellanas) - the beach is a 5 minute walk away - bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper - pack conditioner if your hair gets dry (bathroom will have shampoo and bodywash)"

"Ben was an amazing host. Playa Avellanas is very rural, and Ben guided us in right to his gate, no problem. Ben is super attentive, and was checking in with us frequently. He saved us a lot of money with his spot on recommendations regarding excursions and restaurants. The boardwalk to the beach, and the beach are amazing. Restaurants in the area - off the charts!"
