I booked for two nights and found the condition of the hotel to be significantly below that shown in the photos, specifically:
- My allocated room was different from the one noted on my guest details form, and although both were of the same 'class', this felt like a downgrade;
- Neither the main front door lock nor the room door lock was sturdy;
- Keys ostensibly open the allocated room door and the front door only, but I am not convinced this is the case;
- My locked room door was unlocked when I woke up;
- Base of the mattress was moldy;
- There were mold and other stains on the walls, ceilings, and door;
- Shower door did not open smoothly;
- Toilet flush was also stuck and had to be pressed with force;
- Bathroom tap was loose;
- Two power sockets were loose and not properly attached to the wall;
- A brown liquid leaked out from the base of the kettle when it boiled;
- Something around the bed smelled singed, but I was unable to identify what;
- A near-empty bottle left behind by a previous guest was still in the room;
- I pulled out a strand of long hair (not my color) from the blanket on the bed;
- WiFi did not work;
- Walls were not soundproof;
- There was limited furniture on which to put things; and
- Furnishings/fixtures were tired and poorly maintained.
The photos online appear to be from when the hotel was newer. Given the above, I left after the first night. The receptionist did not bat an eyelid; it appears this is a common occurrence.
