Very friendly staff, modern hotel amenities and clean property. The small kitchen was great for when we just wanted to make a small meal instead of going out to eat everyday. Breakfast was tasty and pool was nice on hot days.

Interior design was exceptional. Property is located across the street from the private residence of Greece's president, so the security couldn't be better. Nice dining options a short walk downhill, and not too bad walking back up. Perched near the top of Lycabettus, Athen's highest point is a huge plus. Breakfast was in line with the quality and taste of the rest of the property.

The hotel was a little difficult to navigate given the altitude and slope. It was, however, across the street from the prime minister’s home which made it very safe ( police everywhere). We did not have very much closet space and we were there for 6 nights. It’s better for shorter stays. No shower caps, so bring your own. Breakfast was very good as was the rooftop outdoor pool/patio area..

As a single female traveller, I was cautious about the location of this hotel, but I had no issues and enjoyed the early morning walk up Lycabettus Hill, which was almost adjacent. The staff were extremely helpful & resolved any requests very quickly

Nice property & rooms. Nice pool. Front desk staff great!! Fair price. 4/5 because the shower & sink drains do not drain fast, & water leaked all over the bathroom floor like a flood. We had to use all our towels to mop it up. Owners are on property by rooftop bar or breakfast room. They ignore you & don't ask you anything about your stay & the accommodations. Don't even say Hello. No greeting or courtesy from the owners to the guests. May not be the custom, but it was obvious that they were the owners. They should at least greet the customers.

The property was hard to get to if you walking due to it being near the top of a hill. We had a lot of problems with locking the door of our room. The cleaners twice did not lock it after cleaning the room which is a serious security risk. Why have a nice apartment and a second rate key system for door? The bed was too soft with little back support, The breakfast was really good quality.

The staff were amazing, sorting us out when we arrived early and when we needed to check out late- and generally being incredibly friendly. Room was very comfy and had everything you need for a city break Location was very convenient but also calm and relaxing Breakfast was good and varied Only downside was that the pool was unfortunately out of action during our stay

Unexpected disappointment
Stayed here for two nights after a week in corfu. Not what I was expecting from the photos on their site. Reception staff were friendly. Walls in the bedroom marked and dirty. Shampoo bottle in shower empty. Roof terrace pretty small with inexperienced bar staff basically hanging out with there friends. Green build up around the outside of the pool. Management and staff arguing behind the bar at breakfast, shouldn't be done in front of guests. We put a special request for the bedroom as it is our honeymoon whick was ignored. No extra blankets or pillows. Overall pretty disappointing.

Nice hotel, b@##@y steep hill
Hotel itself was lovely, nice size suite and great customer service. The rooftop pool is more of a plunge pool than swimming pool but nice to cool off in. And i mean gool off as its not heated and was like an ice bath lol. Probably gets warmer into the summer. The only drawback is that its atop a very steep hill which is a hard walk every day or twice a day sometimes. Is approx 25 minutes walk from the Acropolis.

Nice hotel, central location
Hotel is great and the room is a good-sized studio. The location is very central and the view from the rooftop is amazing. The only issue I had was that I stayed there for 5 nights and the room wasn't cleaned once. I used the kitchen to cook a couple of times, would be nice to have the floor hoovered at least once during my stay. I even requested for the room to be cleaned but that didn't happen. Stuff was very friendly and I got a late check out which was very nice.

Nice, modern, well equipped and spacious apartments. The only thing missing in the room was a hair dryer. Good and safe neighborhood with many shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. The metro station is also only minutes away. There is a small but nice pool at the rooftop.

I agree with other reviewers that The Duke has some growing pains as a boutique hotel that is less than a year old: balcony door extremely heavy and difficult to open, room door needs to be slammed in order to close properly and etc. However, the staff are extremely nice, helpful and quickly dealt with an issue I had with a very noisy room next to me in the middle of the night. The amenities are great and the rooftop pool area is perfect when it is scorching hot in Athens. My room also included free room service breakfast that I wasn't aware of which was a very nice surprise. I would definitely stay at The Duke again!

This hotel was a bit disappointing. First the PROs, very updated/modern looking hotel, clean, and great location only 5 minute walk to restaurants and bars. Now the CONs…the front desk is left unattended a LOT. We waited for 30 minutes for the receptionist to call us a taxi to take us to dinner. We ended up giving up on the receptionist and waived down a taxi on our own, which we found out over charged us 10 euros. My biggest complaint with the receptionist is that the desk was constantly empty. If we had an emergency, I don’t know what we would’ve done. Also, we stayed two nights, and our room never got cleaned. By the time we came back (around 4pm) from walking all day, the room was still not cleaned and we were too tired to find the receptionist and wait for our room to get cleaned. Also, you have to sign up for your breakfast the day before, which is understandable especially with COVID going on. Well, we never received the correct order on both mornings, and they never delivered the food at the requested time. I really had my hopes up for this place, but was pretty disappointed.

Duke Boutique Hotel in Kolonaki
The hotel is in a lovely area, and the staff were friendly and helpful from start to finish. Our room looked out onto a tree-covered hill, and the view from the rooftop pool was wonderful. Although the room offered every convenience, the door to the connecting room could have been better insulated, since we could clearly hear the people next door, who were listening to music and speaking loudly. The buffet breakfast was closed due to Covid policies, but a box containing warm viennoiseries was delivered with fresh-squeezed orange juice and coffee, as well as sandwiches, which are apparently eaten for breakfast in Greece. Everything was clean and great care taken to make sure even cards were sterilized.

Christmas and New Year stay at the Duke
We had a great and comfortable stay at the Duke! All the staff were very polite and helpful and always with a smile! Our room was great clean and cosy and had everything we needed! We definitely recommend it! We will be back for sure!

Very friendly staff and contemporary design. It's location was in a nice and safe residential area, though is up a hill from the main centre of Athens - though I frequently walked. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel and would like to stay there again.
