Manage your expectations this hotel is hundreds of years old, the floors will creak, the stairs are uneven and the windows aren't double glazed,.all of which are massive plusses in my opinion. "Easy place to find and excellent parking area, Pub was very themed as yuo would expect with the name and associated furnishings all creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. The owners son was running the pub and provided the best level of service I've encountered for a considerable time. the food was probably the highlight with a good diverse choice and without doubt the best value I've ever had. Superb choice of places to stay, although the rooms could do with an update."

"Bathroom sink could be cleaned . Old toothpaste marks. An updated shower head would help. No toiletries are supplied if you've made an unplanned stopped. "

The staff were very willing to accommodate vegan options on their meal choices and there was one vegan option on the specials board (please not risotto - why is risotto the goto vegan meal for every hotel - why not get some frozen beyond beef burgers and give a vegan burger option for instance) "
