"The best word I can use to describe our stay at The Alex is Excellent! The hotel itself is in a fantastic location positioned walking distance to many of Dublin’s highlights while distant enough to avoid the crowd and noise. The staff was incredibly welcoming - special shoutout to Simon for helping give advice and being generally kind. We were able to drop our bags and got an email that our room was available a couple of hours earlier than check in time. Our room was on the fifth floor and extremely well-appointed with a mixture of charm and minimalism. The shower was the best we used in our entire time in Ireland. Bed was large, comfortable, and had plenty of outlets. We ordered the room that included breakfast and I’m so glad we did. The food was really superb - full Irish breakfast fare with a variety of pastries, ample choice of coffee and juices. The service was great and it was buffet style so we were able to have our fill before hitting the streets. Overall, I wish we had stayed here for our entire time in Dublin and I will not hesitate to stay here again when we return. One of the best values-for-money that I’ve experienced in any major city. "
