"Las camas eran bastante incómodas . El dueño del hotel es un borde y contesta mal. El restaurante, aunque pone asador no tenías opción de pedir nada a la parrilla, es más, solo había un menú bastante pobre para elegir. No volveremos."

Typical for a Paradore. Everything you need is available. The indoor pool is not huge but better than nothing. Covered outside parking was good for me. Access to the centre of the town is a short flat walk.

The best area to stay in Arnado is the historic centre, particularly around Praza Maior and the streets immediately surrounding it.
This area is the heart of Arnado, characterised by its pedestrian-friendly cobbled streets, traditional Galician architecture, and a relaxed pace. Praza Maior is the central square, often bustling with locals enjoying a coffee or an evening stroll, and it's surrounded by shops, restaurants, and the town hall. The narrow lanes leading off the square, such as Rua do Vilar and Rúa Nova, are where you'll find many of the town's independent boutiques and eateries.
Couples will find this area particularly appealing for its romantic setting and convenience. You're within easy walking distance of Arnado Cathedral, the Mercado de Abastos (a lively food market), and charming riverside walks along the Miño River. The evenings offer plenty of opportunities for quiet dinners at local tavernas.
For families, staying near the Alameda Park offers a good balance. While still very close to the historic centre, this area provides more open green space for children to play.
When is the best time to go to Arnado?
The best time to visit Arnado is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October. These months offer comfortable temperatures, fewer crowds, and a pleasant overall experience.
May and June provide lovely spring weather. The countryside is green and lush, and the days are long, superb for exploring the vineyards and historic sites without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find a good balance of sunshine and comfortable warmth.
September and early October are also excellent choices. The summer crowds have largely dispersed, but the weather remains mild and agreeable. This period is particularly appealing for those interested in the local wine harvest, as many vineyards are active, offering a unique insight into the region's produce.
While July and August are popular, they can be very hot and crowded, especially at coastal attractions if you plan day trips.
