Such a comfy and cozy Craftsman home. It felt like it was our home. Relaxing atmosphere, well equipped, perfect for our girls trip. Location was great. You can easily walk to downtown Arcata. Just a lovely spot.

Older property with lots of charm. Plenty of space and sunshine. Well equipped kitchen. Very comfy beds. Host is communicative and accommodating. Check in was simple and convenient. Grocery just a couple of blocks away. Easy access to 101 and only a short drive to Eureka and McKinleyville. Walkable to Arcata Plaza.
This was our second time staying here and we'll be back. It's spacious and perfect for family of 4-5. Walking distance to downtown and campus. Close to restaurants and market. Very enjoyable stay.
Amazing location! Travelled with our two kids ages 15 and 12 and there was a room for each of them. Very walkable to downtown Arcata and several restaurants. About 30 minute drive from the south entrance to Redwoods NP. The home is spectacular with tons of early 20th century craftsman details throughout. Would absolutely stay here again without reservation.
We had such a nice time in this wonderful house. Beds were comfortable, there is plenty of space, and it’s an easy walk to the square and to campus. The proper owners are super nice and very helpful. We’ll definitely be back.
We had great time at this property!
Centrally located with everything within walking distance.
The house itself is charming; my family enjoyed the stay and hope to go back to visit beautiful Arcata!
This was a great place to stay for myself and my aging parents. It would have been wonderful for kids too. Location is great. House feels comfortable, welcoming and easy. It’s pure Arcata.
Very comfortable house. Old school hard wood floors, trim, and kitchen. Plenty of space. Walking distance to downtown square and campus. Really enjoyed staying here. Will def stay here again when visiting Arcata.
We could walk to so many local shops and restaurants with ease. The house was a cute old bungalow with plenty of space for cooking, visiting, and playing games with the family. Look forward to another stay.
We enjoyed our stay very much. It was the perfect location next to the university. Nice house and very clean. The owners are super friendly too. We will definitely be back.
Had a great time at Sam's house. It's located just a few blocks from the downtown plaza and easy access to campus. We could walk to pretty much anything we needed. Nice market a few blocks away, new ramen shop a block away, plaza is 7 blocks away.
House is a really nice older house. I have a soft spot for old houses, and like their quirkiness. House is laid out very logically. There's a nice office in the back and we used the smaller third bedroom as a quiet reading/hanging out room. Sam was very communicative and easy to reach. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip if it's available.
We loved this house. It had so much character and the location was great as well. Walking to downtown and the university. This place worked out really well for us and we will be back!

Great early 20th century charm with nicely added updates. It doesn't have the exterior charm of some neighboring Victorians, but it is definitely very functional.
We stayed here while touring Humboldt with our son and had a great time. The hosts are attentive and available and very knowledgeable about the area. The home is well-maintained, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The beds are cozy and there is a ton of natural light. We walked to the school and out to dinner and coffee. Did not need to use our car at all to get around. We hope to be back.

Nice home needs cleaning, noisy, limited dishware
Nice home has had some nice work done and nice touches. needs work. No screens. Lot of windows painted closed.
Only 4 cups, 3 mugs. No bowls for eating, just large serving bowls. A few plates. But stocked with cookware. Check if dishes before you go if you plan to cook. We had to give up on that.
Not sure they use a cleaning service as floors, kitchen and bathrooms need it. Bedding was clean.
Musty smell and noisy street. Lots of cars. Will impact sleep if noise bothers you.
Really neat old house, we loved the antique kitchen. House has beautiful details throughout, feels special to stay in an old house. That said, old houses come with old smells, so if you're sensitive, consider this.
Also, they appear to be remodeling an adjacent property so when we arrived there were work vehicles taking up the only parking spot and the street parking is 2 hr only or prohibited between certain hours. Be aware, the work crew uses this property for restroom.breaks so we were surprised when a very nice man let himself in the backdoor to use the restroom! We all had a good chuckle at the shock and he retreated quickly! Some better communication by the owner to the work crew might be in order for times when it's been rented. Because of the construction the yard is littered with debris as well making our first impression a little dubious about what we'd find inside.
Inside is truly delightful and overall clean. That said, the tub did have a prior guest's hairs throughout. We also find hair in the sheets and on a pillow. I'm thinking just didn't get sloughed off in the dryer but still, felt a little icky having to pick someone else's hairs out of the sheets.
We used the trundle twin and had to locate sheets for it in a closet...due to infrequent use they smelled musty and the mattress pad for that bed has noticeable stains on it.
Finally there was no welcome book or anything in the property to give us instructions or tips, etc.
We stayed here for a family wedding and was ideally located near the main Plaza as well as a local market, coffee shops, and a couple local restaurants. My father has a little trouble walking but commented that he liked the hand rails down the hallway to the bathrooms and in general was easy for him to get around. The place also had lots of charm and was very clean. There is definitely pride of ownership there. Two nit-pik items to be aware of are: 1. it is on a loudish corner with some traffic and the occasional college students walking by in the evenings. If you are sensitive to that, it could be an issue. 2. one of the two bathrooms is functional and nice, but very small. Over all, it was a great place and would stay there again without hesitation.
