As a traveler, you pack many things and body towels aren't something you would pack as it takes up a lot of space, even though I know it's a hostel, but there's a charge to rent. We rather buy it at a market for 120yen instead of renting for 100yen. Very strict with check-in time at 4pm and check out time at 11am. The rooms were clean for triple room. Sinks are outside of the rooms and one downstairs at the commons area. There are two showers downstairs. One annoyance is the sink near our rooms, everyone was using the sink to brush their teeth right by our door and it narrow, hard to get in without asking for them to move. There are two areas to relax at the commons. Tea is complimentary. There's hot and cold water provided. Local market is quiet after 10. No noise after 10pm. It is a 30-40 min walk to Ueno Park and Asakusa.
The mall, called Joyful Minowa, where Sato-san's rest is situated is a special place, very quiet, very authentic.
Lot's of traditional shops, far from the touristic crowed districts, but close to the center of Tokyo.
Only pedestrians and cyclists move in this covered street.
The host team have lots of kindness and they helped us to translate when we went shopping in the mail. Their help was precious.
Near the hotel, there's a little railways station around by cherry trees. Minowabashi is the terminal station of Toden Arakawa Line the last streetcar still in service in Tokyo.
I recommend this hostel if you want to see a hidden face of Tokyo.
