Excellent breakfast, staff friendly and lovely pool Missed having a safe in room

We had a lovely stay at the Dore Hotel. The staff are incredible, property spotless and the rooms are well laid out. We had a swim up pool room which was fantastic. It is an easy bus ride into Chania and the staff were really helpful in organising any excursions.

Overall this is a nice place to stay if you just want to relax. We had a junior suite with a pool and did just BnB. Breakfast is good. Spa is good. Gym is good. Service regarding rooms could sometimes be hit and miss- we had to ask for the air con to be seen to on numerous occasions, the room to be cleaned a few times and there was one turn down service in 10 nights (just because we asked as we noticed it was supposed to be included (not that we particularly needed it). There is a small working village just outside the hotel with a handful of restaurants, supermarket, couple of convenience stores. A walk through the village takes you to the monastery which is worth a visit. The walk along the seafront is lovely with about 8 or so restaurants- all good, inexpensive, with beautiful setting. The beach at the hotel is just okay- it’s small, the hotel beach bar is good and convenient for the beach. I would not be going to this hotel for its beach. You have to walk across a car park littered with debris to get to the beach. Main pool area is very good and well maintained. It was a lovely temperature (in July). Tennis courts were good. Can’t comment on any evening entertainment or hotel restaurants.

A fabulous resort in Crete, positioned on a beautiful bay west of Chania. Three fabulous pools are complemented by a peaceful beach perfect for a dip. Our room was beautifully presented with a large balcony which got the sun all afternoon. The staff were friendly and always helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was the buffet of dreams, we always ate early and there was always lots to choose from.
