This is a great-value hotel within walking distance of train station, Cathedral and lots of restaurants and shops. The breakfast is good too. The staff are wonderful, especially Wendy and Bonilda and they made our stay in beautiful Amiens extra enjoyable. We will hopefully return to Amiens and will definitely stay here again.

Good central location
A very quiet time of the year, but the hotel is centrally located so that you can walk anywhere in Amiens, just about. The hotel reception staff were so helpful with directions and information, speaking good english.

in a good location for walking as it is on a pedestrian shopping area. short walk to everything. Although a little out dated it was all very pleasant. Only downfall was no parking.

Liked everything about the L'univers.The staff.food.bed were all excellent. What I didnt like is the non correspondence from Wotif which put stress on me saying the booking was cancelled and then not hearing from them again.Will not use this booking system again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is brilliantly located near the station and also the main attractions. The breakfast available is very nice. The room was quite old fashioned but a good size and included a table and chairs. The bathroom, however, was very small with only a hand held shower over a very thin bath. The WC was in a separate room with no basin.

This was a great place to stay in Amiens. The staff were accommodating. They even put in am early breakfast for us at 2:30am to attend the Anzac Day dawn service. Lovely breakfast. The only downside was they didn’t have any English speaking options in the TV. Surrounding shops and restaurants were great and lovely view of the cathedral from my window. Highly recommend this accommodation.

Really friendly and helpful staff. A genuine and traditional French building with modern facilities in keeping with its period. Quiet, clean, a short, flat walk from the beautiful cathedral and very fine museum, with bars and restaurants likewise a short walk from the hotel. The charming quaysides are not far. Amiens is a lovely town for shopping too, and I found very reasonable prices everywhere. Go there!

Don't stay here if you have a car and luggage. It was awkward to get to and the GPS doesn't know that the street is only for pedestrian traffic now. We parked a couple of blocks away but you cannot get the car out until after 6:30 am which negated driving to the Paris CDG airport for a morning flight. We left and booked a place closer despite the no refund policy. Also... No toilet paper in the washroom

Great location
We were very happy with this accommodation. The car park was quite nearby and reasonably priced (7€ per day). Two choices for breakfast and we tried both. One was everything you could need and the other was an express version, more like a traditional French breakfast: juice, coffee, bread and pastry. The little breakfast room was charming. The hotel has a lot of history and is a bit tired now, but the staff very helpful and someone was always available. I could see the Cathedral from our bedroom windows. It would be hot in summer, though, without air con. We walked absolutely everywhere. Location and being in an old area are very important to us. This hotel delivered.

Delightful
We spent two days in this comfortable and relaxed accommodation. I was impressed that the reception staff could pick my accent/dialect down to the region in Tasmania. The bed was so comfortable, even with the music festival literally outside our room, we slept extremely well. Staff were friendly and accommodating, breakfast was more than diverse and adequate for a range of needs. Situated virtually in the main mall and an easy stroll direct to the Station.

The location was great - central to all the shops and cathedral Staff were welcoming and helpful. Nice big room with a balcony you can sit out have a drink. Door handle of the bathroom was broken but other than that a comfortable stay

Location - in the centre of the town. A short walk from the railway station. Shopping and restaurants nearby. Hotel - Clean, spacious room, heaters worked well. The room was quiet even though we overlooked the town centre. Bathroom was adequate, but very compact.

Best location in Amiens.
Top stay. Really great location for Amiens. There is a multi story car park within 5 mins walk which was £7 for 24 hours which I think is reasonable. Comfy big bed. Bath and shower. Only complaint was it was too warm in the room. Opening the windows and shutters wasn’t really an option because of the noise and light. Other than that just great. Didn’t take breakfast so no comment.

Awful....avoid unless you're a very heavy sleeper!
The hotel is not accessible by car, we had to park away from the hotel and walk with luggage. We got to reception, we asked about where to get something to eat and were told anywhere! The room very very dated. There was two cups, but only tea/coffee facilities for one...one coffee and one tea, one sugar, and no milk! I found a razor blade cover on the shelf in bathroom, so cleaning not to a great standard. The bed sloped, or the floor did. We had a early departure scheduled so went to bed early, but the people in the room above us were so noisy we didn't get off to sleep for a couple of hours. All in all, nothing to recommend this place at all.

The name of this property is ridiculous! Breakfast, however, was very good, and I enjoyed meeting Australians who had come and stayed there to tour Aussie graves and monuments from WWI. However, the delay in reporting a phone call about a battlefield trip to me means that I had to go to the Tourist Office and book a taxi instead. Also a black mark against the tour company which told me all too late that they were not coming to Amiens that AM. I had booked the night before Moral of this story: book (using Expedia if you want) before you go. The experienced tour guide would have cost as much as the taxi and probably better.

Good hotel close walk to train station and shops.
The hotel is a recommended place to stay. It is an easy walk to the train station and hire cars. IT is at the beginning of the shopping strip and an easy walk to the canal cafe area and cathedral. We stayed during the hot spell of summer so without airconditioning, the room was hot. It was however, clean and comfortable.

Central Amien
Perfect location from Amien train station, 5 mins walk and 10min walk to Cathedral. Hotel doesn't have Aircon so it can be rather hot in rooms during summer. They don't have fans either. Good size rooms with windows you can open and ironing facilities on each floor. Basic French style breakfast is available (no bacon or sausage or fried eggs) Overall my preferred hotel when visiting Amiens due mainly to staff, and traditional style of hotel. Oh and has the quickest check-in you will ever experience.

A good base for the Western Front.

Great location and price
Some things need to change. There is carpet in the bathroom. How do you disinfect it? The rooms use metal keys not key cards. The room decor and lobby carpeting needed updating twenty years ago. But for its location and cost, not a bad place to stay for a couple days.

The rooms were incredibly small, not room for bagagge, the carpet had stains everywhere. The reception was always empty, providing zero security, and the recepsionist gave us the wrong direction sending us in the complete opposite direction. Luckily we were there just one night!

I loved this hotel. There is a 24 hour front desk officer. The rooms was enough for 2 and several big luggages. The sheets are clean and there is a lift! The bathroom was nice and big. The biggest plus is the location which is along a street major shopping area in Amiens and a 2 min walk from the Amiens Train Station. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Plus a pharmacy and grocery shop just beside it.

Within walking distance to everything. Parking a bit of an issue as you have to find the cinemas and park underneath so your car is not close too you. Our bathroom could have done with a refurb, not sure it was a superior room, but overall not too bad.
