"A great hotel for a break"

"We checked in and were given room 241 upstairs. When we saw the room we were appalled as it was small ,very hot, and there was a brown corrugated iron roof right in front of the window, so nothing else could be seen. I returned to reception to ask for a different room but the unhelpful girl said the hotel was full so no other rooms were available, but all hotel receptions say that in this situation. However, a much more helpful girl intervened and said that two garden rooms were available, and she even got a young chap to come with me to help with the cases. He showed us to room 302 which was absolutely lovely, spacious, bright and with double doors leading to a small patio with a table and chairs. Beyond was the garden with a lawn and flowers, a lovely outlook. A fan was brought to keep us cool in the unusual heat, and we had a nice meal in the restaurant that evening. We would like to mention the young chap who helped us with our cases from the first room and even refused a tip, he was pleasant and courteous and helpful. Also the second girl on reception who found us the garden room, and the staff in the restaurant who were cheerful and attentive despite the heat."

"We stay several times a year at Crown Plaza, it has never once let us down on anything. Rooms are spotless as is the rest of hotel, bars and outside areas. Breakfast buffet has a wide and varied choice always fresh and hot equally there is a fantastic cold buffet too. Bars both inside and out are cheery and inviting. STAFF, a great big thank you to you all for making our mini breaks so restful, peaceful, enjoyable and special, you are a credit."

"Some friends and I stayed in the deluxe family room, which was very comfortable and air conditioned, with a mini fridge. The hotel itself was beautiful, the bar very cosy, and the breakfast was excellent. They brought out vegan sausages upon request for my friend. The spa was a big draw. There was just a steam room and pool, which were nice but the pool was quite small and full most of the time, which made actual swimming difficult. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again."
