Arrived on rainy day with car loaded with luggage. Samantha (Sam) the receptionist greeted us with a smile and immediately organised valet parking and for luggage to be sent to our room. Sam showed us our room then organised a booking in the Hotel restaurant for later in the evening. Entering to the Hotels wonderful Epicurian cocktail bar we were greeted warmly by a friendly Spanish waitress who recommended gin cocktails and organised a snack from the tapas menu. Our table in Cocina, the Hotel Restaurant, was booked for 9PM. Once in the restaurant we were initially underwhelmed, mainly due to the large space which seemed more canteen than upmarket restaurant. However, the greeting we received from the staff more than made up for any initial disappointment in the venue. We ordered a bottle of Amorone after browsing the wine list sipping on a complimentary glass of Prosecco. The meal was delicious and as very nice touch, apparently due to the expensive(ish) bottle of wine we were drinking we received a complimentary cheese plate to finish off the wine. An all round excelllent night away from start to finish - thanks to the staff, especially Sam and her Spanish colleagues; G V provides service to rival any 5 star establishmen anywhere in Europe. well done, we will be back soon.

"Fabulous hotel but noisey "
We spent two days in Edinburgh in February. The hotel was well-located for all the tourist sights and the airlink 100 for getting to and from the airport. It was clean, stylish and grand, however our ground floor room was rather noisey - we were woken on Sunday by a choir and there was a small gap under the door meaning we could hear everything in the corridor. Overall we would recommend if in a different room.

"Lovely, accommodating Hotel. Loved every minute!"
We decided to go to Edinburgh for our Honeymoon very last minute. Found this hotel on Expedia. Hotel looked after us ever so well with 5 star service. Everyone was a pleasure to talk to and the service was brilliant. The Manger upgraded us on our last 2 nights to use the Owners Residence and this particular accommodation was amazing. We thank you so much for this!! You made our honeymoon so much better. Thank you!!

"Convenient Apartments close to many attractions"
We stayed for 3 nights (weekend) in Nov 2016 and found it a great place to stay. The staff were great and helpful. The location was very convenient for tourists to access nearby attractions. The apartment we had was very spacious and had a lot of features, including a dishwasher and washer/dryer. We were provided a welcome pack on arrival with a number of breakfast type items including bread, cereal, etc. We only needed to get a couple of items from the nearby store to have enough for our breakfasts for our stay (3 mornings). It is possible to hear street noise from the apartments, but at least for us, it was not at such a level to disturb us. Note that we were on a high level floor, so that might have helped. We were driving, so the secure car park was a great benefit. The streets in this part of Edinburgh are a bit of a rabbit warren, so it can be a tricky to get into the parking at first as it's on a one way side street to the main hotel entrance door which itself is on another one way street (so you may have to loop around to get to the parking). I recommend parking the car at the apartments and either walking or using public transport within the city. If we have the chance to go back to Edinburgh, we are highly likely to use these apartments again for our stay.

"Very pleasant stay and lovely apartments!"
I had asked for an early check in if it was possible as we had arrived on an early flight and this was arranged for us which was great as we could get settled in and head off for the day. On our arrival back later that evening the electricity in our apartment went off - i called Marco and he sent the repair man over within 15mins unfortunately the issue could not be resolved easily (a postcode problem as the electricity had went off else where) and therefore Marco set us up in a new apartment two floors up. We had been upgraded because of the inconvenience and this apartment was much bigger (having 2 bedrooms). The only downside to this apartment was the noise of the traffic going by outside we found it hard to get to sleep (the windows are sash windows and as the building is quite old we assumed it was probably listed they could not be changed) so i bought ear plugs and slept grand the rest of our stay:) After the dodgy start we had a great time and enjoyed staying in the apartment as you can come and go as you please and don't have to be up to early to go for breakfast etc.. The apartment was very handy to the city and we walked in every day but you could avail of the trams and buses which ran frequently past the building. The staff were very helpful and on checking out we were able to access the luggage storage room and hold our suitcases until we were leaving to get our flights home. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend to a friend.

"Best hotel ever. "
I have too many positive things to say to list them all. This is honesty the best lodging experience of my life. Great room. Great food. Peacocks! The best service in the know universe. Sample discontinued rare Scotch in the whisky room. If you find yourself in Edinburgh, stay at Prestonfield House. You won't regret it.

"Good location for a good price."
We will use it again if we come to Edinburgh. Only drawback was that there is a lot of noise from the street in our room, so we had to close it all the time, which made the room too warm for our liking.
