"A great location and most of the staff (not all) are extremely friendly. The hotel is clean and right next to Bastille: a great area for eating/drinking with superb links to all the major sites. Room was tiny (305- suspect it’s normally a single- we’d booked a double), somewhat dated but spotlessly clean. A/C, fridge, safe all not working in the room. Shower area simple but clean and bright. Needs an overhaul, decor and amenities-wise. It was a bit like a time-warp but did have some charm. Check in though was simply awful. The chap made us feel like an utter inconvenience and was simply rude (tried pushing us a taxi return to the airport which we politely declined- from that point he had no time for us and wouldn’t answer simple questions about the metro… ‘Ask me tomorrow, as I’m busy’. He actually wasn’t even on Reception as we arrived. We waited ten minutes then loudly said ‘Bonjour’, which he appeared to take issue with. He was irked from the start). Evening staff great though- warm and welcoming. Didn’t eat at Castex as the breakfast room didn’t look that appealing. All in all, the location is amazing, a clean if tiny room (305), comfortable bed, decent shower but no amenities to speak of."

"I would give the staff a 10/10 everyone was so nice. My criticism is that it wasn’t as clean as I hoped. There were stains on our sheets and women’s hair it really grossed me out. The bathroom toilet didn’t flush if you used toilet paper so that was also a really gross issue. The property was beautiful and in a great spot around good food but just beware if you get uncomfortable with things not as clean. "

"Staying at Pavillion de la Reine was such a luxurious treat! We stayed in the apartment on site (le pavillion) with two teenagers .. lots of room, space to relax and unwind after long days of sightseeing. It had the best breakfast every day & we really enjoyed the helpful, polite and delightful staff. "
