"We've stayed here several times over the years and we love the place. Stayed here this time to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and again wasn't disappointed. Staff are all friendly and attentive especially front of house and in particular Patrick friendly, professional and full of advice and tips. Greeted at reception with complimentary glass of prosecco and a card in the room wish us a Happy Anniversary. Room was large and with a wonderful view of the lake. We had already booked an outside restaurant for dinner although the Asian fusion restaurant looks amazing so we'll try that next time we stay. For a small fee, we were chauffeur driven to our restaurant in Windemere in the new Bentley which was made the occasion much more special. Can't fault the hotel, staff and service here. Highly recommended. "

"I was greeted by Jenny when I arrived at the hotel. She was very polite and friendly even though I did not follow the check-in guidelines which was to call the property 24-hours prior to arrival. On top of that I arrived to the property later than I expected due to never disappointing train travel delays. To my surprise, I was even given a room upgrade as I booked four nights. 😉 The room was clean, and neatly made. It had a view of the big lake which was bonus. Long story short, I would recommend staying here. The property is also a stones throw to some good restaurants, pubs, post office, bus access points, and of course the Bowness Pier. "

"Very comfortable hotel with lovely gardens, and good breakfast. Staff were friendly, parking plentiful, and walkable to Lake Windermere and the shops/restaurants in Bowness on Windermere. Enjoyed the birds inhabiting the gardens - get a window table for breakfast to enjoy the birds while you eat."

"Hotel has a bit of character .Yes it's a bit dated but the rooms are clean and tidy.Breakfast is nice but seems a slow process so expected a bit of a wait. "

"Lovely hôtel - perfect for Lake Windermere. Facilities in the hotel are great: there are even wellingtons you can borrow to do a woodland walk. The restaurant is fantastic with high quality food. The lounge and reception area have wonderful open fires which make it feel really cosy. Our feature room was fantastic and roomy."
