"There is nothing like staying inside our national parks, being immersed in them, going to the lodge for breakfast among all the guests getting ready for their hikes that day, cozying up in front of the fireplace in the lodge at night. Our room was pretty basic, but clean, comfortable, and quiet. Good food at the lodge restaurant. Best was getting up in the morning and not having to drive for an hour to your day's activities in the park. "

Also we weren’t informed notice of the location up the hill until a few days before our trip date and by then it was too late to cancel. Microwave, refrigerator, a basket of snacks, dishes,and coffee and tea, We were surprised by the quality of the place. The workmanship that was put into buildin was 5 star. The power generator went out on the second day and we were left with no electricity or service to make any calls. When we went to the emergency address listed in there no one opened the door. "We met up for the Jazz Festival. Although tucked away, this was a great place to stay, with easy access. my only reservation was the climbing up the steep stairs. ( being in the mountains, I should have known.) One of the group has cardiac problems so this was a bit difficult. Otherwise, everything was very clean and well organized. Virtually anything we needed was available. The views were unbelievable coffee on the porch was fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful stay."

We had deer right there one morning and sat out there with our coffee watching them. I will point out though, the water pressure was very low and not much hot water, no back to back showers!
